Die Grundidee des ID Classic besteht darin, "Breiten- und Tiefenwirkung" im Ziel ideal zu kombinieren. Gelungen ist das durch die Verbindung von zwei verschieden harten Bleikernen: Der vordere weiche Teil ragt zapfenförmig in den hinteren harten und schwereren Teil hinein. Umschlossen wird diese "Ehe aus Blei" von einem Mantel aus Flussstahl, der sich nach hinten kontinuierlich verstärkt. Das torpedoförmige Heck begünstigt mit seiner um ein Drittel größeren Bodenfläche das außenballistische Verhalten durch höhere Flugstabilität. Der hintere Kern des ID Classic-Geschosses ist mehr auf Aufpilzungsbereitschaft und Energieabgabe im Wildkörper ausgelegt. Deshalb besonders geeignet für leichtes bis mittleres Schalenwild.
