The difference between MK IV and MK IV 22/45 models is the grip frame.
The grip frame of the MK IV has a sharper angle and is made of aluminum in almost all variants (exception: stainless models with steel grip frames). The magazines are identifiable by the short magazine base.
The grip frame of the MK IV 22/45 has a steeper angle and the same grip profile as the Colt 1911 .45 ACP (hence the name), so even grip panels for the 1911 fit. This grip frame is always made of plastic. The magazines are identifiable by the extended magazine base at the front.

Die Mark IV Target mit 5,5 Zoll-Lauf in Stainless mit Gewindelauf 1/2"x28 von RUGER ist eine erstklassige Kleinkaliberpistole mit geflutetem Laufprofil. Im Gegensatz zur "alten" MK III Generation, lassen sich die Mark IV Modelle über einen einzigen Druckknopf werkzeuglos zerlegen. Ein hervorragend ausgeklügeltes System. Der natürlich Griffwinkel unterstütz den Trainingsverlauf hinsichtlich der besseren Treffpunktlage.

Das Griffstück der MK IV 22/45 hat einen steileren Winkel und das gleiche Griffprofil wie die Colt 1911 .45 ACP (daher der Name), sodass sogar Griffschalen für die 1911 passen. Dieses Griffstück ist immer aus Kunststoff gefertigt. Die Magazine sind erkennbar an dem nach vorne verlängerten Magazinboden.
