Condition: Slightly used and very sharp. The blade has some barely visible scratches on the right side, approximately at the sweet spot. These were caused by splitting a piece of wood. Otherwise nothing. The edge is consistently sharp and free of nicks. The sheath made of 3mm thick leather looks like new at the front but has some scratches on the back.
The Turkish chopping knife (since it weighs 843g, it can also be called a short sword) is 51cm long and has a bird head grip made of Turkish walnut wood and brass.
The 4mm thick blade, made of stainless German knife steel 1.4116, has an edge with a chisel grind and features a slight micro belly. So it doesn't have the usual hollow grind with a huge wedge angle.
That's why this thing chops just as well as it cuts and doesn't break in the process.
Zustand: Wenig benutzt und sehr scharf. Klinge hat auf der rechten Seite, ungefähr am sweetspot, einige kaum sichtbare Kratzer. Diese sind durch das spalten von einem Holzscheit entstanden. Und sonst nichts. Die Schneide ist durchgehend scharf und frei von Scharten. Die Scheide aus 3mm dickem Leder sieht vorne neuwertig aber und weist auf der Rückseite einige Kratzer auf.
Das türkische Hiebmesser (da es 843gr wiegt darf man auch Kurzschwert sagen) ist 51cm lang und hat einen Vogelkopfgriff aus türk. Walnussholz und Messing.
Die 4mm dicke Klinge, aus dem rostfr. deutschen Messerstahl 1.4116, hat eine Schneide mit Meisselschliff und weist einen leichten microbelly auf. Also nicht den üblichen holahop Fasenschliff mit riesigem Keilwinkel.
Darum hackt das Ding genau so gut wie es schneidet und geht dabei nicht kaputt.
