Das Modell wurde 2017 als Dienstpistole in das Rennen für die Ausschreibung der US Army geschickt.Das Finish wurde direkt für das Militär entwickelt und ist somit sehr robust und schützt vor Korrosion. Bei der Glock 19 X wurde das Glock 17 Griffstück mit dem kompakten Verschluss der Glock 19 kombiniert. Der große Rahmen bietet eine hohe Magazinkapazität. So werden bei der Glock 19 X 3 Magazine mitgeliefert: 1 Magazin mit 17 Schuss und 2 Magazine à 19 Schuss.
