The BERETTA ULTRALEGGERO writes
a new chapter in the history of lightweight over-and-under shotguns and
achieves what has never been accomplished before: a steel receiver,
combining the highest strength and reliability with an extremely low
weight. Thanks to state-of-the-art production and development technology,
BERETTA has managed to reduce a steel receiver to the structural elements necessary for the strength and
function of the weapon through "skeletonization," thereby significantly
reducing the weight (by about 400 grams compared to the Silver Pigeon model). The result is a very maneuverable
and yet extremely robust shotgun, ideal for hunters who value low weight, fatigue-free handling, and particularly agile
pointing characteristics.

The Beretta engineers have approached the topic of weight reduction with extreme genius and innovation. After careful development using state-of-the-art simulation programs and extensive field tests, the side surfaces and the underside of the breech have been extensively skeletonized without compromising reliability and durability even under high loads.
The lightweight and decorative technopolymer inserts with holographic effect engraving elegantly close the cutouts on the side cheeks and at the balance bottom. Using state-of-the-art laser technology, a 3D surface has been created that simulates the visual effect of light reflected from steel engravings when viewed from different angles and under varying lighting conditions.
The trigger plate is made of weight-saving yet highly durable aluminum. The selective single action allows for easy and quick switching with a selector lever housed in the safety slider, so that depending on the hunting situation and shooting distance, the lower or upper barrel can be selected for the first shot.
The forend construction is based on the system of the sport model 694, but in the Ultraleggero, it is largely made of weight-saving aluminum. Thanks to the more favorable lever forces and the self-adjusting locking mechanism, a consistently unchanged opening resistance of the shotgun is guaranteed over a long period of time.
The Ultraleggero is equipped with the famous Steelium Optima Bore HP barrels. Beretta forgoes the continuous lateral connection rail. The special barrel geometry with a double transition cone of 80 mm is designed to ensure excellent performance and consistently perfect and uniform shot patterns while simultaneously reducing recoil and muzzle rise. The barrels are available in lengths of 61 cm, 66 cm, 71 cm, and 76 cm and are equipped with a round nickel-silver bead sight.
The OCHP chokes have a length of 70 mm and are perfect for lead and soft iron shot (tightening torque: at least 5 Newton meters). When using soft iron shot over 3.25 mm shot diameter, it is recommended to use only the more open chokes up to and including Modified (1/2) for optimal coverage and to avoid unnecessary strain.
The pistol grip stock with a drop of 35 mm at the stock nose and 55 mm at the stock end, as well as the fore-end, are made from selected, high-quality walnut woods of class 2.5. The surface is protected with a weather-resistant and easy-care oil finish, which greatly simplifies professional restoration after scratches or damage during particularly extreme use. The woods are selected not only by class but also by weight and density to achieve a perfect balance. The stock and fore-end are provided with a fine fish skin pattern for better grip. The recoil-absorbing 20 mm Xtra-Light butt plate is 30% lighter than standard plates and provides comfort and stability when aiming and shooting.
