The "skinner" model is a specialized knife in classic form, developed in the second half of the last century and has not lost any of its popularity – from PUMA Solingen. The tip of the typical skinner blade for skinning is located slightly above the spine of the blade in this Solingen classic. This makes the cutting edge very bulging in the front part and thus extends it. This has the advantage that significantly longer cuts can be made and the repeated positioning of the knife is reduced. Since the blade tip is located very high up, the risk of accidentally stabbing into the precious fur is also significantly minimized. Selected stag horn scales and a reliable finger guard made of aluminum sit on the continuous flat tang.

Das Modell „skinner“ ist ein Spezialmesser in klassischer Form, das bereits in der zweiten Hälfte des letzten Jahrhunderts entwickelt wurde und nichts von seiner Beliebtheit verloren hat – von PUMA Solingen. Die Spitze der für das Abhäuten typischen Skinnerklinge liegt bei diesem Solinger Klassiker etwas oberhalb der Klingenrückens. Die Schneide wird dadurch im vorderen Teil sehr bauchig und verlängert sich somit. Dies hat den Vorteil, daß wesentlich längere Schnitte vorgenommen werden können und das wiederholte Ansetzen des Messers reduziert wird. Da die Klingenspitze sehr weit oben liegt, wird zudem die Gefahr eines versehentlichen Einstechens in das kostbare Fell deutlich minimiert. Auf dem durchgehenden Flacherl sitzen ausgesuchte Hirschhornschalen sowie ein zuverlässiger Fingerschutz aus Aluminium. .
