With its distinctive design, the Monza version of the Blaser R8 Ultimate immediately catches the eye
The gunsmiths at Blaser have borrowed the name for this special model of the R8 Ultimate – as they did with the Silverstone – from a famous racetrack: the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. The fast firing sequence through the straight pull, the precision and reliability of the rifle, and the sporty-elegant design justify the choice of this namesake.
The Stock
The black synthetic hole stock is an eye-catcher with its red leather inlays and the R8 logo in the same color. But the stock is not only beautiful, it is also tactile and ergonomically pleasant. The pistol grip with the grip hole keeps the shooting hand in a relaxed position at all times. The optional leather comb is height-adjustable to allow for an even more personalized fit for the physique of the shooters. The recoil pad noticeably compensates for the felt recoil.
The System
The hand tensioning system of the R8 Ultimate Monza guarantees maximum safety by relaxing the firing pin spring. The tension is applied only immediately before the shot by pushing the tensioning slider forward. The quickly reloadable straight pull repeating system is made of duralumin and is matte black anodized. The direct trigger of the R8 Ultimate Monza rifle is crisp and ensures a precise shot release without jerking. The trigger, chamber grip ball, and chamber are coated with the extremely hard DLC coating (Diamond Like Carbon). This reduces friction loss to a minimum. The bolt is available in three caliber groups: Mini, Standard, and Magnum.
Barrel and Caliber
The barrels of Blaser are manufactured from cold-forged high-quality alloy steel, which possesses the best mechanical properties in its homogeneity. The surface is plasma-nitrided and blued. When choosing the barrel for your R8 Ultimate Monza, you have the option of various barrels ranging in length from 47 cm to 58 cm, with or without sights, depending on your caliber preference. You can also decide whether you want a smooth or fluted barrel. The latter has the advantage that the increased surface area due to the fluting dissipates heat more quickly, so that even with high rates of fire, no disturbing mirage occurs. Another advantage is a reduction in weight.
The Sight Optics
The mounting of the optics is simple and reliable via the Blaser saddle mount DBP. A range of mounts for various manufacturers of sight optics are compatible with the R8 Ultimate Monza: Zeiss ZM and VM, Swarovski, Schmidt & Bender, Prisma, Z-Point, Aimpoint Micro, and Docter-Sight. Additionally, a saddle mount with 25.4, 30, or 34 mm rings for scopes without rails can be attached.

Die Büchsenmacher von Blaser haben den Namen für dieses Sondermodell der R8 Ultimate – wie bereits bei der Silverstone – einer berühmten Rennstrecke entlehnt: dem Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. Die schnelle Schussfolge durch den Geradezug, Präzision und Zuverlässigkeit des Gewehrs und das sportlich-elegante Design rechtfertigen die Wahl dieses Taufpaten.
Der Schaft
Der schwarze Synthetik-Lochschaft ist mit seinen rot angenähten Ledereinlagen und dem R8-Logo in gleicher Farbe ein Blickfänger. Aber der Schaft ist nicht nur schön, sondern auch haptisch und ergonomisch angenehm. Der Pistolengriff mit dem Griffloch lässt die Schusshand stets im entspannten Zustand. Der optionale Leder-Schaftrücken ist höhenverstellbar, um eine noch individuellere Anpassung an die Physis der Schützinnen und Schützen zu ermöglichen. Die Schaftkappe kompensiert den gefühlten Rückstoß merklich.
Das System
Das Handspannsystem der R8 Ultimate Monza garantiert höchste Sicherheit mittels Entspannung der Schlagfeder. Die Spannung erfolgt erst unmittelbar vor dem Schuss durch das Vorschieben des Spannschiebers. Das schnell nachladbare Geradezug-Repetiersystem ist aus Dural gefertigt und mattschwarz eloxiert. Der Direktabzug der R8-Ultimate-Monza Büchse steht trocken und gewährleistet eine präzise Schussabgabe ohne Verreißen. Der Abzug, die Kammergriffkugel und die Kammer sind mit der extrem harten und DLC-Beschichtung (Diamond Like Carbon) versehen. Diese reduziert den Reibungsverlust auf ein Minimum. Den Verschluss gibt es in den drei Kaliber-Gruppen Mini, Standard und Magnum.
Lauf und Kaliber
Die Fertigung der Läufe von Blaser erfolgt aus kaltgeschmiedetem hochwertigem Vergütungsstahl, der in seiner Homogenität die besten mechanischen Eigenschaften besitzt. Die Oberfläche ist plasmanitriert und brüniert. Bei der Wahl des Laufes für Ihre R8 Ultimate Monza haben Sie je nach Ihrer Kaliberpräferenz die Auswahl unter diversen Läufen in der Länge von 47 cm bis 58 cm, mit und ohne Visierung. Sie können auch entscheiden, ob Sie einen glatten oder kannelierten Lauf möchten. Letzterer hat den Vorteil, dass die durch die Kannelierung vergrößerte Oberfläche die Wärme schneller ableitet, so dass auch bei hohen Schussfolgen kein störendes Luftflimmern auftritt. Ein weiterer Vorteil ist eine Reduzierung des Gewichts.
Die Zieloptik
Die Anbringung der Optik erfolgt einfach und zuverlässig per Blaser Sattelmontage DBP. Eine Reihe Montagen für diverse Anbieter von Zieloptiken sind mit der R8 Ultimate Monza kompatibel: Zeiss ZM und VM, Swarovski, Schmidt & Bender, Prisma, Z-Point, Aimpoint Micro und Docter-Sight. Außerdem kann eine Sattelmontage mit 25,4-, 30-, oder 34-mm-Ringen für Zielfernrohre ohne Schiene angebracht werden.
