Walther P.38 from WWII production
Good overall condition, only the surface coating shows signs of wear of the bluing/phosphating or insufficient restoration attempt.
The weapon is matching (grip/frame/slide/locking block), various small parts bear the military proof marks.
With the existing proof mark of the Wehrmacht, the weapon had to be reproofed for use in hunting and sports. The stamping is discreetly placed but unavoidable for use.
According to the compendium "Die Pistole 38" by Krutzek, the weapon can likely be attributed to production starting in 1942 (see Krutzek p. 82/83 variant 8b)

Guter Allgemeinzustand, lediglich der Überzug der Oberfläche weist auf Nachlassen der Brünnierung/Phospatierung oder unzureichenden Restaurationsversuch.
Die Waffe ist nummerngleich (Griffstück/Lauf/Verschluss/Verriegelungsblock), diverse Kleinteile tragen Waffenamtsstempel
Mit dem vorhandenen Beschusszeichen der Wehrmacht musste die Waffe für die Verwendung bei Jagd und Sport neu beschossen werden. Die Stempelung ist dezent angebracht aber für einen Gebrauch unvermeidlich.
Laut Kompendium "Die Pistole 38" von Krutzek kann die Waffe wohl der Fertigung ab 1942 zugeordnet werden (siehe Krutzek S 82/83 Variante 8b)
