GLOCK G45 is the BLACK sister of the extremely successful GLOCK 19X. The handy G19 slide on the full-size frame of the G17: Compact design with high magazine capacity. Additionally, the G45 has been equipped with front serrations for better slide manipulation. GLOCK offers factory nPVD surface coating on the slide. The finish is specially made for the military, making it very robust and protecting against corrosion. The polymer frame pistol combines the full-sized G17 grip with the compact G19 slide, thus providing ample firepower in more manageable dimensions. The grip of the GLOCK G45, like the Gen5, lacks finger grooves. These have disappeared with the new ergonomic design of the Gen5. Not everyone has the same hand size and thus the finger width that was predetermined. This ensures better handling for the shooter. The large full-size frame offers a high magazine capacity. Additionally, ambidextrous slide stop levers are attached to the pistol. The barrel of the G45 has been revised. The new "GLOCK Marksman Barrel" (GMB) barrels were developed as part of the tender for the US Army. They are intended to exhibit a higher precision potential than previous GLOCK barrels due to the new, modified polygonal barrel profile.
