MAB D French authorities and military pistol. Cabinet weapon from collection. The model D was the most produced MAB pistol and was in high demand not only in France but also in Germany. The pistol was manufactured during WWII for the German army and also in the post-war period for many German police authorities. Based on the FN model 1910, the MAB D pistol was introduced in the early 1930s in calibers 7.65 and 9mm short. The 9mm short pistol was mainly used by the military, while the 7.65 version was primarily produced for police, forestry, and civilian organizations such as the Bank of France. The model presented here is likely a post-war production for a civilian perhaps German organization. MAB used the letters before the serial number as a designation for the respective client, such as BF for Bank of France or U for the city of Ulm. Unfortunately, the designation for the prefix Z is not known to us, only that the pistol comes from the police weapon collection of a former Bavarian police officer. Well-maintained, almost as new condition. Barrel profile mirror bright, grooves and fields sharp-edged. All-steel pistol deep black blued. The rear sight is fixed on a dovetail and can be adjusted laterally with a tool. Fine front sight. Elaborate design with grip safety, additional safety lever as trigger safety, which is also used to secure the slide and for disassembly. Single action trigger. Black grip panels with MAB emblem and full-area fine checkering. Original inscription/stamp = Slide left PISTOLET AUTOMATIQUE MAB BREVETE MODELLE D. Slide right: MADE IN FRANCE. Grip right S/N: Z 0 8xx. Left grip panel has a small crack at the upper screw, otherwise well-maintained, almost as new condition. Caliber: .7.65mm Browning (.32 Auto). Proofing: CIP 11/2023 Mellrichstadt. Barrel length: 10 cm. Dimensions: 17.5 x 12.5 cm. Weight: 737 g. MAB D Französische Behörden und Militärpistole. Schrankwaffe aus Sammlung. Das Modell D war die am meisten produzierte MAB Pistole und war nicht nur in Frankreich sondern auch in Deutschland sehr gefragt. Die Pistole wurde während des WKII für die Deutsche Armee aber auch in der Nachkriegszeit für viele Deutsche Polizeibehörden gefertigt. Basierend auf dem FN Modell 1910 wurde die MAB D Pistole Anfang der 1930er Jahre im Kaliber 7,65 und 9mmkurz eingeführt. Die 9mmkurz Pistole wurde hauptsächlich beim Militär genutzt während die 7,65 Version vor allem für Polizei, Forst und zivile Organisationen wie z.B. der Bank of France gefertigt wurde. Bei dem vorliegenden Modell handelt es sich vermutlich um eine Nachkriegsfertigung für eine zivile vieleicht Deutsche Organisation. MAB nutze die Buchstaben vor der Seriennummer als Zuordnung für den jeweiligen Auftraggeber wie z.B. BF für Bank of France oder U für die Stadt Ulm. Die Zuordnung für den Präfix Z ist uns leider nicht bekannt, nur soviel das die Pistole aus der Polizeiwaffensammlung eines ehemaligen Bayrischen Polizisten stammt. Gepflegter fast neuwertiger Zustand. Laufprofil spiegelblank, Züge und Felder scharfkantig. Ganzstahlpistole tiefschwarz brüniert. Die Kimme ist auf Schwalbenschwanz fixiert und kann mit Werkzeug seitlich verstellt werden. Feines Korn. Aufwändige Ausführung mit Griffstücksicherung, zusätzlichen Sicherungshebel als Abzugssicherung, der auch zum fixieren des Schlittens und zum Zerlegen genutzt wird. Single Action Abzug. Schwarze Griffschalen mit MAB Emblem und vollflächiger feiner Fischhaut. Original Beschriftung/Stempel = Schlitten links PISTOLET AUTOMATIQUE MAB BREVETE MODELLE D. Schlitten rechts: MADE IN FRANCE. Griffstück rechts S/N: Z 0 8xx. Linke Griffschale an der oberen Schraube kleiner Riss, sonst gepflegter fast neuwertiger Zustand. Kaliber: .7,65mmBrowning (.32Auto). Neubeschuss: CIP 11/2023 Mellrichstadt. Lauflänge: 10 cm. Maße: 17,5 x 12,5 cm. Gewicht: 737 g. Die Beschusszeichen wurden der kulturellen Bedeutung entsprechend sammlergerecht dezent angebracht.
