Sie unterstützt die Trennung der zwei Geschosskerne unterschiedlicher Härte und ist mitverantwortlich für das duale Wirkungssystem des Geschosses: Der vordere Teil zerlegt sich nach dem Auftreffen im Wildkörper sehr rasch unter starker Energieabgabe – für höchste Wirksamkeit. Der zylindrische Heckteil trennt sich an der H-Rille ab, durchschlägt ohne nennenswerte Deformation auch starke Wildkörper und liefert so zuverlässig den gewünschten Ausschuss. Die Sogwirkung des Heckteils sorgt dafür, dass die Fragmente des vorderen Kerns den Wildkörper größtenteils verlassen.
