Hare hunting
If you are lucky enough to be able to count numerous hares in your hunting area, the time of hare hunting begins. Whether in the search hunt, in the field, the hunt with a small ball or the bush hunt with the dog: there are many possibilities. A kitchen hare, shot with the small bullet, brings a tasty change to the table. High predator pressure, urban sprawl and intensive agriculture do not make it easy for our hare. Only through intensive hunting of predators and close cooperation with our farmers can we manage to build up or maintain a healthy population. Hare counts in the spring give an overview, but should not be deceptive, because often at the beginning of the hunting season you wonder where they have gone. A sense of proportion and expertise are required.
Pheasants
What is true for hares is no different for pheasants. Good tracks have become rare. A good stretch shows how much effort hunters have made, or not, to ensure the continued existence of the hen bird. Skillfully created pheasant feeders are a useful helper when it comes to much needed grazing for the colorful birds. However, it is often the lack of animal protein that is the undoing of many a chick. Only those who have enough insects to offer through a sufficient supply of flowering plants will enjoy hunting the colorful birds. Of course, sufficient cover must not be lacking. However, those who do not hunt their predators will not be successful even with these measures.
Bucks
It won't be long before the first bucks begin to shed their horns. Only for a few days they remain so unadorned. A new set of bast horns quickly grows up and causes unwanted trouble in the forest when sweeping at the latest.
Wild boar
While the black boars were hardly visible in the corn jungle during the last weeks, now there are the best opportunities in the forest and on harvested fields.
Red deer
It is still roaring from all corners of the forest, at least where red deer make their home. While the old deer, as soon as they have run down, slowly move to their winter quarters, the middle age group is now trying to attract attention by roaring vigorously and still come to the train.
