At the virtual SHOT Show from January 18 to 22, 2021, the American manufacturer Savage presents its new straight-pull repeater IMPULSE, which will be equipped with various technical innovations: SAVAGE has filed 13 new patents that will be incorporated into the IMPULSE. 

An integral component of the SAVAGE Impulse is the straight-pull bolt called "Hexlock," which allows for significantly faster cycling than a conventional rotating bolt.

In addition to speed, the safety of the futuristic straight-pull repeater plays a crucial role: The SAVAGE Impulse features three safeties: the mechanical firing pin safety, the independent AccuTrigger trigger, and the mechanical bolt handle safety, which almost completely eliminates the risk of accidental discharge. The bolt handle can be mounted on either the right or left side. 

The weapon is modular and can be largely disassembled and reassembled without tools. The bolt head can be changed without tools, and the barrel can be swapped with a conventional torque wrench. The variants offered at launch are "Big Game," "Predator," and "Hog Hunter."
