The background: a growing number of incidents with free-roaming, uncontrolled dogs in the forest and on meadows. These disturb wild animals, harass or frighten walkers and cause damage. Only recently, 17 torn deer were reported in the Hegering Sundern alone.

"It is a problem that concerns us throughout the district," says police spokesman Ludger Rath. Therefore, the authorities have decided to clearly point out the current legal situation and correct behavior.
