The eXergy is the lead-free projectile from the manufacturer Sellier & Bellot. The projectile is a hollow point bullet made of copper, which features an aluminum tip. In terms of construction, it is modeled after the TSX from Barnes. The aluminum tip seals the hollow point for aerodynamic reasons. Inside the projectile, which is not a fragmenting bullet but a deformation bullet, there are predetermined breaking points designed to accelerate and control the mushrooming process.
The eXergy projectile belongs to the harder variants among deformation bullets - at close shooting distances, it can happen that the projectile is still too fast to fully mushroom in small game bodies. Therefore, it has a high penetrating power, which makes wastage very likely.
