The heavier heavy contour barrels make the bolt-action rifle front-heavy and ensure better oscillation behavior. Additionally, the inherent precision of the barrel increases, and the recoil of the bolt-action rifle is reduced.
DLC coating
The surface of the barrel made by Sauer from a specially developed steel is coated with a DLC coating. DLC stands for "Diamond Like Carbon." This type of coating is very environmentally friendly and biocompatible compared to galvanic coatings. Through a thin-film coating process, the coated components become particularly resistant and very smooth.

Die schwereren Heavy-Kontur-Läufe machen den Repetierer kopflastig und sorgen für ein besseres Schwingverhalten. Außerdem erhöht sich die Eigenpräzision des Laufes und der Rückstoß der Repetierbüchse ist geringer.
DLC-Beschichtung
Die Oberfläche des von Sauer aus einem eigens entwickelten Stahl hergestellten Laufs ist mit einer DLC-Beschichtung versehen. DLC steht für „Diamond Like Carbon“. Diese Beschichtungsart ist im Gegensatz zu galvanischen Beschichtungen sehr umweltschonend und bioverträglich. Durch ein Dünnfilmbeschichtungsverfahren werden die beschichteten Komponenten besonders widerstandsfähig und sehr glatt.
