Glock has launched its pistol models in a significantly optimized Gen6 compared to previous models. This primarily concerns the ergonomic design, the trigger system, and the Optic Ready option. The Glock G45 Gen6 is the compact crossover version with a short slide and standard grip.

The ergonomics
One of the key modifications of the G45 Gen6 concerns the ergonomics of the pistol. This starts with the standard grip. Its new, RTF6 texture, which extends to the slide, combines the advantages of the previously used RTF2 and RTF4 textures in a new surface structure. The haptics and grip are significantly improved. The extended beavertail and grip are shaped so that the pistol fits organically to the shooting hand. The grip grooves at the front and back are more angled, allowing the compact slide to be cycled even in wet conditions and with gloves. An extended thumb rest is located on both sides, and the edge around the slide stop lever has been enlarged to prevent accidental activation.
Operating comfort
The flat trigger system of the G45 Gen6 guarantees a consistent finger position with a continuous trigger weight of 2,651 g. The trigger is also part of the Safe Action System, which includes automatic safeties: in addition to the trigger safety, there is also a firing pin safety and a drop safety. The 3 safeties are deactivated sequentially when the trigger is pulled and automatically reactivated when the trigger is released. The distance between the trigger and grip has been reduced, and two included interchangeable backstraps in sizes M and L allow for individual adjustment to hand size. The high undercut at the trigger guard, along with the beavertail, contributes to better recoil compensation, and there is a rail in front of the trigger guard for mounting accessories.
Optic Ready
All Gen6 pistols come with standard sights and are also factory-equipped with the Optic Ready option. The deep cut in the slide accommodates all common red dot sights. The mounting is done directly via the adapter plate on the slide, which keeps the height pleasantly low and ensures great stability. Three adapter plates that cover the majority of common optics brands are included in the package.

Die Ergonomie
Eine der wesentlichen Modifikationen der G45 Gen6 betrifft die Ergonomie der Pistole. Dies fängt bei dem Standard-Griffstück an. Dessen neue, bis zum Schlitten erweiterte RTF6-Textur vereint in einer neuen Oberflächenstruktur die Vorzüge der bisher von Glock verwendeten RTF2- und RTF4-Texturen. Haptik und Griffigkeit sind deutlich besser. Der verlängerte Beavertail und der Griff sind so geformt, dass die Pistole sich organisch an die Schusshand anschmiegt. Die Griffrillen vorne und hinten sind stärker abgewinkelt, so dass der Compact-Schlitten auch bei Nässe und mit Handschuhen durchgeladen werden kann. Eine verlängerte Daumenauflage befindet sich auf beiden Seiten und der Rand um den Verschlussfanghebel wurde gegen versehentliches Auslösen vergrößert.
Bedienkomfort
Das Flache Abzugssystem der G45 Gen6 garantiert eine gleichbleibende Position des Fingers bei einem kontinuierlichen Abzugsgewicht von 2.651 g. Der Abzug ist auch Teil des Safe Action Systems, das als automatische Sicherungen jeweils unabhängig neben Abzugssicherung noch eine Schlagbolzen- und eine Fallsicherung beinhaltet. Die 3 Sicherungen werden beim Betätigen des Abzugs nacheinander deaktiviert und beim Loslassen des Abzugs automatisch wieder aktiviert. Die Distanz zwischen Abzug und Griff wurde reduziert, zwei mitgelieferte Wechselgriffrückenstücke in den Größen M und L erlauben eine individuelle Anpassung an die Handgröße. Der hohe Undercut am Abzugsbügel trägt neben dem Beavertail zu einer besseren Kompensation des Rückstoßes bei, vor dem Abzugsbügel befindet sich eine Schiene zur Montage von Zubehör.
Optic Ready
Alle Gen6-Pistolen haben eine Standard-Visierung und sind außerdem werkmäßig mit der Optic Ready-Option ausgestattet. Die tiefe Fräsung im Verschluss nimmt alle gängigen Rotpunktvisiere auf. Die Montage erfolgt direkt über die Adapterplatte an den Verschluss, was die Bauhöhe erfreulich niedrig hält und große Stabilität gewährleistet. Drei Adapterplatten, die das Gros der gängigen Optik-Marken abdecken, sind im Lieferumfang enthalten.
