Blaser exchange barrel R8 hunting match fluted

The Blaser hunting match barrels are significantly heavier than the standard interchangeable barrels. This makes the repeating rifle more front-heavy and improves its swing. Additionally, the inherent precision of the barrel increases, and the recoil of the repeating rifle is noticeably reduced.

The barrel profile of the Blaser R8 interchangeable barrel measures 22 mm at the muzzle. The hunting match barrels are available in various calibers, specifically in the caliber groups: Mini, Standard, Medium, and Magnum. The reason for the classification of the barrels is the modular Blaser principle. The Blaser R8 systems and stocks can be individually combined with different barrel types in various calibers. Only when changing the caliber group is it necessary to swap the chamber head of the bolt. The Blaser R8 hunting match barrels are available in different barrel lengths of 60 and 65 cm, depending on the calibers. Additionally, the barrels are manufactured with and without a barrel thread M 18x1. There is also the option of whether the barrel is delivered with or without sights. The Blaser R8 barrels are cold forged and are characterized by high precision and durability. The barrels are also plasma nitrided, meaning that 0.1 mm of the surface is hardened using a special process. This creates a hard outer shell while leaving a soft steel core inside. This results in each barrel vibrating optimally and shooting very precisely. To protect against corrosion, the Blaser exchange barrels are additionally blued. The barrel steel used by Blaser is also a strong example of the company's innovative strength. The composition of the steel alloy was developed over 30 years ago in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Kempten and is considered one of the best-kept secrets of the Blaser company from Isny.
