The prerequisite for the production of very light shotguns has previously been the use of aluminum receivers. Beretta has succeeded in significantly reducing the weight of a steel receiver through skeletonization, without sacrificing the stability necessary for the function of the shotgun. The result is the Ultraleggero, a very light yet robust over-and-under shotgun.

Selective single trigger and double trigger
Depending on the hunting situation and shooting distance, the Beretta Ultraleggero allows for the selection of the lower or upper barrel for the first shot via a selective single trigger with the selector lever housed in the safety slider. Additionally, there is a double trigger that allows the shooting sequence of the two barrels to be selected without taking the finger off the trigger. With the front trigger, the shooting sequence is bottom – top when activated twice, and with the rear trigger, it is reversed. This allows you to decide ad hoc depending on the target.

The floral engraving of the receiver
On the receiver cheeks, a surface has been created using laser technology, where the floral motif and the name “Ultraleggero” appear three-dimensionally through a holographic effect at various angles and lighting conditions. This aesthetic detail, combined with the matte black bluing of the receiver and the shiny black hinge pins, defines the noble character of the Ultraleggero.

Skeletonized steel receiver
The receiver is essentially the business card of Beretta over-and-under shotguns. It is equipped with a side lock, trapezoidal shoulders, and a double, self-adjusting locking bolt. With a focus on stability and durability while maximizing weight savings, the side surfaces and the underside of the receiver have been skeletonized without weakening the structure.

The chamber
The Beretta Ultraleggero features a 76 mm / 3“ universal magnum chamber, suitable for all shotgun cartridges with a case length of 65-76 mm and the use of magnum cartridges with lead shot, steel shot, and steel HP shot.

The stock
The forend construction of the Ultraleggero is weight-saving and made of aluminum. The shape of the locking lever allows for comfortable handling and easy disassembly of the firearm. The forend is securely and play-free held by the separately positioned self-adjusting locking system. By increasing the stock cavity, the weight of the stock has been reduced by approximately 130 grams. The pistol grip stock and the forend are made of walnut wood class 2.5. The surface is protected with a weather-resistant and easy-care oil finish. The recoil-absorbing Extralight® stock pad is 30% lighter than a standard stock pad and, thanks to its structure that avoids liquid absorption, is more resistant to abrasion, aging, and weather influences.

The barrels
The Beretta Ultraleggero is equipped with Steelium-Optima-Bore-HP barrels. Made from triple-alloyed chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel, the barrel is produced through an elaborate process (deep drilling, honing, cold forging, and vacuum relaxation annealing) and is combined with the monobloc and the guilloched sight rail into a precisely shooting barrel bundle. The special barrel geometry with a double transition cone of 80 mm ensures perfect shot patterns while simultaneously reducing recoil and muzzle rise. In this version, the barrels equipped with a round nickel-silver bead sight are 66 cm or 71 cm long.

Nomen est omen bei der Baretta Ultraleggero – sie besticht durch geringes Gewicht trotz ihrer Basküle aus Stahl

Voraussetzung für die Produktion von sehr leichten Flinten war bisher die Verwendung von Basküle aus Aluminium. Beretta ist es gelungen, durch Skelettierung das Gewicht einer Stahlbasküle erheblich zu reduzieren, ohne dabei auf die für die Funktion der Flinte notwendige Stabilität zu verzichten. Heraus kam die Ultraleggero, eine sehr leichte und dennoch robuste Bockdoppelflinte.

Selektiver Einabzug und Doppelabzug
Je nach Jagdsituation und Schussentfernung kann bei der Beretta Ultraleggero per selektivem Einabzug mit dem im Sicherungsschieber untergebrachten Wahlhebel der untere oder der obere Lauf für den ersten Schuss ausgewählt werden. Daneben gibt es auch einen Doppelabzug, mit dem die Schussfolge der beiden Läufe ausgewählt werden kann, ohne den Finger vom Abzug zu nehmen. Bei dem vorderen Abzug ist beim zweifachen Betätigen die Schussfolge unten – oben und bei dem hinteren Abzug ist sie umgekehrt. So können Sie je nach Ziel ad hoc entscheiden.

Die Floralgravur der Basküle
Auf den Baskülebacken wurde per Laser eine Oberfläche geschaffen, auf der bei verschiedenen Blickwinkeln und Lichtverhältnissen das Blumenmotiv und der Name „Ultraleggero“ mittels eines Holografie-Effekts dreidimensional erscheinen. Dieses ästhetische Detail macht mit der matt-schwarzen Brünierung der Basküle und den glänzenden schwarzen Scharnierwellen den edlen Charakter der Ultraleggero aus.

Skelettierte Stahl-Basküle
Die Basküle ist quasi die Visitenkarte der Beretta-Bockdoppelflinten. Sie ist mit einem Flankenverschluss, trapezförmigen Schulterstücken und dem doppelten, selbstnachstellenden Verschlussbolzen ausgestattet. Mit dem Fokus auf Stabilität und Langlebigkeit bei maximaler Gewichtseinsparung wurde die Seitenflächen und die Unterseite der Basküle skelettiert, ohne dabei die Struktur zu schwächen.

Das Patronenlager
Die Beretta Ultraleggero verfügt über ein 76 mm- / 3“-Universal Magnum-Patronenlager, geeignet für alle Schrotpatronen von 65-76 mm Hülsenlänge und die Verwendung von Magnum-Patronen mit Bleischuss, Stahlschuss und Stahl-HP-Schuss.

Der Schaft
Die Vorderschaft-Konstruktion der Ultraleggero ist gewichtssparend aus Aluminium gefertigt. Die Form des Verschlusshebels ermöglicht eine bequeme Handhabung und einfache Zerlegbarkeit des Gewehrs. Der Vorderschaft wird durch das getrennt positionierte selbstnachstellende Arretierungssystem sicher und spielfrei gehalten. Durch Vergrößerung der Schafthöhle wurde das Schaftgewicht um ca. 130 Gramm reduziert. Der Pistolengriffschaft und der Vorderschaft sind aus Nussbaumholz der Klasse 2,5. Die Oberfläche ist mit einem wetterfesten und pflegeleichten Ölfinish geschützt. Die rückstoßabsorbierende Extralight® Schaftkappe ist um 30 % leichter als eine Standard-Schaftkappe und dank ihrer Struktur, die Flüssigkeitsaufnahme vermeidet, widerstandsfähiger gegen Abrieb, Alterung und Witterungseinflüsse.

Die Läufe
Die Beretta Ultraleggero ist mit Steelium-Optima-Bore-HP-Läufen ausgestattet. Aus dreifach legiertem Chrom-Nickel-Molybdän-Stahl wird in einem aufwändigen Verfahren (Tiefbohren, Hohnen, Kaltschmieden und Vakuum-Entspannungsglühen) das Rohr hergestellt und mit dem Monobloc und der guillochierten Visierschiene zu einem präzise schießenden Laufbündel zusammengefügt. Die spezielle Lauf-Geometrie mit doppeltem Übergangskonus von 80 mm gewährleistet perfekte Trefferbilder bei gleichzeitiger Reduzierung von Rückstoß und Mündungshochschlag. In dieser Version sind die mit einem runden Neusilber-Perlkorn versehen Läufe 66 cm oder 71 cm lang.
