The System
The system of the M18 is made of steel, as has been proven millions of times with the M98. A three-lug bolt locks the chamber. This has allowed the opening angle of the chamber to be reduced to 60 degrees, ensuring the fastest cycling operations. The textured cone-shaped bolt handle provides a very good grip feel when cycling. A double-column 10+1 magazine delivers sufficient firepower, even during longer shooting series at the range. A Picatinny rail with a 20MOA inclination is standardly mounted on the system. This allows for even more shots, as if the scope were mounted on a straight rail.
Trigger and Safety
The trigger weight of the direct trigger can be adjusted to personal preferences. The safety can be operated silently. It acts directly on the trigger sear and has three positions. This allows the bolt to be opened even in the safe position. Thus, safe unloading and loading of the weapon is guaranteed, even in a cocked state.
The Stock
The hard-anodized precision chassis made of aluminum from MDT, named ORYX, accommodates the M18 system. Green and black in color, it is designed so that the barrel can always oscillate freely. Beim Long Range Schießen stellt das Mauser M18 LR Chassis unter Beweis, dass Treffen zählt. Das bewährte M18 System ist mit einem äußerst präzisen 22 mm Matchlauf ausgestattet und im MDT ORYX Chassis gebettet. Wer Leistung in Präzision sucht, kommt mit dem M18 LR Chassis voll auf seine Kosten.
Das System
Das System der M18 wurde, wie millionenfach bei dem M98 bewährt, aus Stahl gefertigt. Ein drei Warzenverschluss verriegelt die Kammer. Dadurch konnte der Öffnungswinkel der Kammer auf 60 Grad reduziert werden. Was schnellste Repetiervorgänge garantiert. Der griffige Kegelkammergriff bietet ein sehr gutes griffiges Gefühl beim Repetieren. Ein doppelreihiges 10+1 Magazin liefert ausreichend Feuerkraft, auch bei längeren Schiessserien auf dem Stand. Serienmäßig ist eine Picatinny-Schiene mit 20MOA Vorneigung auf dem System montiert. Das ermöglicht noch weitere Schüsse, als würde das Zielfernrohr auf einer geraden Schiene montiert werden.
Abzug und Sicherung
Das Abzugsgewicht des trockenstehenden Direktabzugs kann auf die persönlichen Vorzüge eingestellt werden. Die Sicherung ist lautlos bedienbar. Sie wirkt direkt auf den Abzugsstollen und besitzt drei Stellungen. Dadurch kann der Verschluss auch in gesicherter Stellung geöffnet werden. Somit ist ein sicheres Entladen und Laden der Waffe, selbst in gespanntem Zustand, gewährleistet.
Der Schaft
Das hart eloxierte, aus Aluminium gefertigte Präzisionschassis von MDT mit Namen ORYX nimmt das System der M18 auf. Grün, schwarz in der Färbung, ist es so gearbeitet, dass der Lauf stets frei schwingen kann. Der Schaftrücken ist stufenlos, und die Schaftkappe durch einen Spacerkit in der Länge verstellbar. Der griffig gestaltete Pistolengriff ist ergonomisch geformt und nimmt die Schießhand perfekt auf. Ein Zweibein-Adapter am Vorderschaft, und schnell entnehmbare Riemenbügel vorne und hinten, sind vormontiert. An einer Picatinny-Schiene am unteren Ende des Hinterschaftes ist ein Erdsporn montierbar.
Der Lauf
Mit 22 mm an der Mündung und besonders großem Querschnitt beugt der Match-Lauf der M18 LR vorschnellem erhitzen vor. Das bietet Vorteile, gerade bei längeren Schiessserien auf dem Stand. Durch die Länge von 62 cm wird das volle Leistungsspektrum der Patrone ausgenutzt, um auf große Distanzen wirken zu können. Durch sein Gewicht liegt die Büchse äußerst ruhig im Anschlag.
