Blaser exchange barrel R8 standard fluted

The cannelure of the Blaser R8 interchangeable barrel significantly increases the barrel surface area.

This results in the barrel being able to dissipate the heat generated during rapid firing much more effectively, preventing the annoying mirage above the barrel. The cannelured barrel also saves weight. This is an important factor during strenuous stalking in difficult terrain, where every gram counts. Particularly, the elegant aesthetics of the cannelured barrel impress, as it visually integrates well into the overall appearance of fine Blaser hunting rifles.

The barrel profile of the Blaser R8 interchangeable barrel has a cannelure diameter of 17 mm at the muzzle. The caliber selection is also extensive for cannelured R8 exchange barrels. Blaser distinguishes between different caliber groups: Mini, Standard, Medium, and Magnum. The reason for the classification of the barrels is the modular Blaser principle. The Blaser R8 systems and stocks can be individually combined with various barrel types in different calibers. Only when changing the caliber group is it necessary to swap the chamber head on the bolt.
