With its polymer frame and innovative Safe Action® system, this pistol exceeded the army's requirements and outperformed other pistol manufacturers in this tender. It was introduced as the service pistol of the Austrian Armed Forces under the name P80. Subsequently, the GLOCK P80 became known worldwide as the GLOCK 17 in both law enforcement and civilian markets.
The GLOCK P80 is available as a special edition in its original version, developed for the Austrian Armed Forces. This historical reproduction honors the 40th anniversary of the GLOCK P80 in its original form with the technology of a modern GEN 3 pistol.
The GLOCK P80 comes in a special collector's packaging with a certificate of authenticity.

Die Erfolgsgeschichte von GLOCK begann Anfang der 80er Jahre, als Gaston Glock in kürzester Zeit eine innovative Pistole entwickelte und dem Österreichischen Bundesheer vorstellte. Mit ihrem Polymerrahmen und dem innovativen Safe Action®-System übertraf diese Pistole die Anforderungen der Armee und schlug die anderen Pistolenhersteller in dieser Ausschreibung.
Als P80 wurde sie als Dienstpistole des Österreichischen Bundesheeres eingeführt.
In der Folge wurde die GLOCK P80 sowohl auf dem Strafverfolgungs- als auch auf dem zivilen Markt weltweit als GLOCK 17 bekannt.
Die GLOCK P80 ist als Sonderedition in der Originalversion erhältlich, die für das Österreichische Bundesheer entwickelt wurde.
