Seller not responding

Updated on August 24, 2026

It's frustrating to wait for a reply and hear nothing back. These steps will help you out.

Give it enough time

Dealers and private sellers can be busy — it may take a while before they see your message. Wait at least 24–48 hours before taking further action. Responses tend to take longer during school holidays, vacation periods, and public holidays.

Follow up via chat

If you haven't heard back after a reasonable amount of time, send another message — your first one may have slipped through the cracks. The seller will be notified again by email. Don't go around the platform: avoid sharing your email address or phone number with the seller, as communicating outside the chat means losing traceability and security.

Check whether the seller is verified

Take a look at the seller's profile to see if they're verified — you'll recognize it by the small shield icon next to their name. If a seller isn't verified yet, a security rule applies: they can see your message and will be notified, but can only reply once their identity verification is complete. This protects all users from fraud. Learn more about identity verification.

Contact other sellers

We have limited influence over the communication between buyers and sellers. If a seller still doesn't respond and you need the item soon, look at other listings — the selection on Gunfinder is constantly growing.
