Contact and complete purchase

Updated on October 08, 2026

You found the right listing? Here’s how to get in touch and complete the purchase safely. Important upfront: Gunfinder connects you with the seller but is not involved in the purchase – payment and shipping are arranged directly between you.

1. Contact the seller

Click Buy or Ask a question in the listing. This starts the Gunfinder chat with the seller. Keep all communication in this chat – everything stays traceable, and your photos are automatically protected with a watermark.

2. Clarify details

Discuss everything important in the chat: condition and completeness of the item, the price, and how you will handle payment and shipping. For restricted items, also clarify the eligibility to purchase.

3. Have your acquisition permit ready

For many firearms and ammunition, you must be authorized to acquire them. Have your permit ready and send it to the seller fully and legibly via chat upon request. You can read here which permit applies to what.

4. Agree on payment and delivery

You agree directly on payment and shipping. The safest option is personal delivery with cash payment upon pickup. Never transfer large amounts in advance without guarantees and be cautious with foreign accounts. You can find all safety tips at Safe trading on Gunfinder.

5. After the Purchase

If you buy a firearm that requires a permit, remember the reporting obligations in your country. How the transfer is legally carried out can be read under Weapon Transfer, the shipping is explained in the Guide to Shipping Firearms. If the seller does not respond, the article Seller Does Not Respond will help you.
