L’adattatore modulare Rusan è composto di due parti: un anello che si avvita all’oculare della termocamera e che può rimanere avvitato all’oculare anche in fase di osservazione, e il resto dell’adattatore che si infila e si fissa sull’obiettivo del cannocchiale, chiudendo con il dito l’apposita levetta una volta che l’adattatore è a fine corsa, assicurandosi di centrarlo con la freccia bianca sulle ore 12 rispetto all’obiettivo del cannocchiale.
Per usare la termocamera per osservare, l’anello Rusan avvitato sull’oculare non offre certo il comfort della morbida conchiglia oculare, ma rispetto all’adattatore monopezzo consente di tenere l’occhio alla distanza ottimale dalla lente.
L’innesto della termocamera sull’ottica con l’adattatore modulare è rapidissimo.
La freccia bianca sull’anello Rusan che si avvita all’oculare della termocamera indica dove inserirlo in corrispondenza alla freccia bianca sul tubo Rusan montato sull’obiettivo dell’ottica, quindi basta ruotare di meno di un quarto di giro l’anello scorrevole di bloccaggio (lock) e a baionetta sull’anello dell’oculare.
Il vantaggio ulteriore di questo adattatore è che l’anello (e la termocamera) hanno una posizione di innesto obbligata, che assicura il posizionamento perfettamente in asse con la linea di mira, evitando ulteriori aggiustamenti per arrivare avere il reticolo perfettamente in asse con lo schermo della termocamera.
