The semi-automatic pistol ATD Compact 4 OR from Steyr is safe, precise, and robust. It has an external hammer above the protective beavertail and a double action / single action trigger with a short reset for quick follow-up shots. The safety lever is ambidextrous; in addition to the manual safety, there is also a firing pin safety.
The ergonomically shaped grip panels, which ensure good control over the pistol, are made of solid aircraft aluminum. Their surface texture is grippy, the hand position is close to the barrel, and the trigger travel is short.
A funnel at the end of the magazine well allows for a quick magazine change. The magazine capacity is 18 or 20 cartridges.
The bolt has front and rear serrations that guarantee reliable handling even in wet weather.
The 4" barrel is made of chrome-molybdenum steel and has a lifespan of more than 30,000 rounds. The rear sight is adjustable for windage, and the front sight with a white dot can be replaced. The pistol is optical ready, and its surfaces are protected against corrosion by a finish. A Picatinny rail (MIL-STD-1913) for mounting accessories weighing up to 300 g is present.

Sie hat einen außenliegenden Hahn über dem schützenden Beavertail und einen Double Action- / Single Action-Abzug mit kurzem Reset für schnelle Schussfolgen. Der Sicherungshebel ist beidseitig bedienbar, neben der manuellen Sicherung gibt es noch eine Schlagbolzensicherung.
Die ergonomisch geformten Griffschalen, die eine gute Kontrolle über die Pistole gewährleisten, sind aus solidem Flugzeugaluminium. Ihre Oberflächenstruktur ist griffig, die Handposition ist laufnah und der Abzugsweg kurz.
Ein Trichter am Ende des Magazinschachts erlaubt einen schnellen Magazinwechsel. Die Magazinkapazität beträgt 18 oder 20 Patronen.
Der Verschluss hat vorne und hintere Riffelungen, die eine zuverlässige Handhabung auch bei nassem Wetter garantieren.
Der 4“-Lauf ist aus Chrom-Molybdän-Stahl gefertigt und hat eine Lebensdauer von mehr als 30.00 Schuss. Die Visierung ist seitenverstellbar, das Korn mit weißem Punkt kann ausgetauscht werden. Die Pistole ist Optical Ready und ihre Oberflächen sind durch ein Finish sicher vor Korrosion geschützt.
