The Cyclone thermal imaging monoculars from ThermTec are extremely affordable devices with a large field of view for medium-range observation. The Cyclone 625 adds to the existing models with a version featuring a more powerful sensor. Weighing only 261 g, it can be carried on any hunt, day or night. The 12 µm sensor with a detection range of 1,300 m, the 4x zoom, and the intuitive operation make it a valuable aid in tracking game.
The Sensor
The Cyclone 625 monocular is equipped with a large and sensitive thermal imaging sensor with a resolution of 640x512 px, a pixel pitch of 12 µm, and a NETD value of ≤18 mK. This ensures excellent thermal differentiation performance. The image frequency is 50 Hz, providing clear, detailed, and high-contrast images. The detection range of the monocular is 1,300 m. With its 25 mm lens and an F1.0 aperture, it offers a large field of view of 30.4 m at 100 m.
The Display
The 1,024×768 px AMOLED 0.39" display features a picture-in-picture function. This shows a zoomed image of the observation object in a frame when needed, without losing the overall view. Depending on individual needs and the observation situation, six color palettes can be selected: white-hot, black-hot, red-hot, green, gold, and violet. Additionally, three modes are available: forest, target, and outline. A self-learning and adaptive AI technology optimizes the image correction algorithm with each calibration.
The Device
The Cyclone 625 boots up in just 3 seconds. It impresses with its excellent haptics, fits well in the hand, and does not cause cramping even with prolonged use. The controls on the top are intuitively operable from both the left and right. Difficult environmental conditions do not pose a problem for observation, as the device's housing is dust and waterproof according to IP67.
Battery Life
The replaceable and rechargeable Li-ion 18650 battery allows for continuous operation of the Cyclone 625 thermal imaging device for up to 10 hours, depending on the activated features. The battery is easy to replace in no time. Charging is done using the included charger. A spare battery is included in the package.
Camera and Connectivity
With the integrated camera, observations can be documented as photos and videos with sound. The internal memory has a capacity of 32 GB. Using the ThermTec Outdoor App – available for iOS and Android – the thermal imaging device is connected to the smartphone via an integrated hotspot. The transfer of images and videos to the screens of mobile devices occurs in real-time. Additionally, the Cyclone 625 can be remotely controlled through this app. Software updates are executed by connecting to a computer via USB cable.

Das Display
Das 1.024×768-px-AMOLED-0,39“-Display verfügt über eine Bild-im-Bild-Funktion. Die zeigt bei Bedarf in einem Rahmen ein gezoomtes Bild des Beobachtungsobjekts, ohne dass man den Überblick verliert. Je nach den individuellen Bedürfnissen und der Beobachtungssituation kann zwischen 6 Farbpaletten gewählt werden: weiß-heiß, schwarz-heiß, rot-heiß, grün, golden und violett. Außerdem stehen die drei Modi Wald, Ziel und Umriss zur Verfügung. Eine selbstlernende und sich anpassende KI-Technologie optimiert bei jeder Kalibrierung den Bildkorrekturalgorithmus.
Das Gerät
Das Cyclone 625 bootet in nur 3 Sekunden. Es besticht durch seine ausgezeichnete Haptik, liegt gut in der Hand, die sich auch bei längerem Einsatz nicht verkrampft. Die Bedienelemente an der Oberseite sind mit links und rechts gleichermaßen intuitiv bedienbar. Schwierige Umweltbedingungen stellen bei der Beobachtung kein Problem dar, das Gehäuse des Geräts ist staub- und wasserdicht gemäß IP67.
Die Betriebsdauer
Der austauschbare und wiederaufladbare Li-Ionen-18650-Akku ermöglicht einen Dauerbetrieb des Cyclone 625-Wärmebildgeräts von bis zu 10 Stunden, abhängig von den aktvierten Features. Der Akku ist einfach und im Handumdrehen auswechselbar. Die Aufladung erfolgt in dem mitgelieferten Ladegerät. Ein Wechselakku ist im Lieferumfang enthalten.
Kamera und Konnektivität
Mittels der integrierten Kamera können die Beobachtungen als Foto und als Video mit Ton dokumentiert werden. Der interne Speicher hat eine Kapazität von 32 GB. Mittels der ThermTec Outdoor App – erhältlich für iOS und Android – wird per integriertem Hotspot das Wärmebildgerät mit dem Smartphone verbunden. Die Übertragung von Bilder und Videos auf den Monitor mobiler Endgeräte erfolgt in Echtzeit. Außerdem lässt sich das Cyclone 625 darüber fernsteuern. Updates der Software werden mittels USB-Kabel mit einem Computer verbunden ausgeführt.
