The model "cougar hirschhorn" is a true designer piece that looks just as good in use as it does in the collector's display case – from PUMA Solingen.
The model "cougar" was designed by Richard Hehn, one of the most renowned knife makers in Germany. Having been part of the PUMA program for decades, it has not lost its myth to this day.
The blade is made from the stainless steel grade DIN 1.4112 and hardened to up to 57 HRC.
A special feature is also the knife construction: The blade and the one-piece handle made using the steel precision casting process are separate elements that are connected using a special method. The blade has a short flat tang that is received by an opening in the handle and is firmly riveted there. Following this, the double-sided rivet area is fitted with a polished steel cap that bears our company logo, the well-known diamond with the head of the Puma.
Since we process natural products, optical deviations between the knife image and the originals are possible.

Das Modell „cougar hirschhorn“ ist ein echtes Designerstück, das im Einsatz eine ebenso gute Figur macht, wie in der Sammlervitrine – von PUMA Solingen.
Designed wurde das Modell „cougar“ von Richard Hehn, einem der renomiertesten Messermachern Deutschlands. Seit Jahrzehnten im PUMA Programm hat es seinen Mythos bis heute nicht verloren.
Die Klinge ist aus der rostfreien Stahlsorte DIN 1.4112 gefertigt und auf bis zu 57 HRC gehärtet.
Eine Besonderheit stellt auch der Messeraufbau dar: Die Klinge und das im Stahl-Feingußverfahren hergestellte, einteilige Griffstück sind seperate Elemente, die in einem Spezialverfahren miteinander verbunden werden. Die Klinge besitzt hierzu einen kurzen Flacherl, der von dem Griffstück durch eine Öffnung aufgenommen und dort fest vernietet wird. Im Anschluß daran wird die beidseitige Nietstelle mit einer polierten, stählernen Kappe versehen, die unser Firmenzeichen, die bekannte Raute mit dem Kopf des Puma's, trägt.
Da wir Naturprodukte verarbeiten, sind optische Abweichungen zwischen Messerabbildung und den Originalen möglich.
