The “ED” in the name of this binocular series stands for “Extra-Low-Dispersion.” This refers to a fluorine-rich glass melt from which lenses are made that effectively compensate for chromatic aberration. Chromatic aberration refers to color errors that occur due to the different refraction of the color components of light and are visible as color fringes along edges. With its ED lenses, the Terra binoculars deliver exceptionally high-contrast, detailed, color-accurate, and three-dimensional images.
