The .30-06 is probably the most popular universal caliber, with which all types of game on Earth have certainly been hunted.
The effective range of the cartridge, which can be equipped with RWS bullets from 9.7 g to 13.0 g, extends up to about 300 m.
The cartridge was developed in 1903 and received its final dimensions in 1906, the year it was also introduced as the standard cartridge in the USA ('Ball Cartridge, Caliber .30, Model of 1906'). The cartridge quickly became very popular as a hunting and sporting cartridge. The .30-06 Springfield is also well shootable by recoil-sensitive shooters.
The RWS HIT bullet is a lead-free, dimensionally stable deformation bullet based on a solid design. The only HIT matrix with the RWS TC-Tip (Twin-Compression-Tip) and the RWS ACC (Active-Crater-Cavity) guarantees a safe and rapid expansion of the bullet with high shock effect - even at long distances. The compact residual body with 99% residual weight ensures high penetration and a safe exit - even after bone impacts! Thus, the RWS HIT is the suitable lead-free alternative for fans of fragment-free bullets.
The bullet is suitable for all native game species, but it performs best in the medium to large game category.
