Opinel Pocket Knife No 08 Stainless Steel Edition FRANCE ! Jeremyville
For the 2017 FRANCE ! Edition collection, Opinel invited three renowned artists from three different countries to create their own design for the handle of the iconic Opinel No 08 knife. Each of these artists has interpreted their own vision of France. Ale Giorgini from Vicenza, Italy, teaches at the IED - European Design Institute in Turin as well as at the Comics School in Padua. His drawings are published in prestigious magazines and newspapers such as the Boston Globe, L'Espresso, and Il Corriere della Serra.
His motif of a couple in love in a typical French café is applied to the beech wood handle of the knife with a blade made of stainless steel using high-quality sublimation printing. Like all Opinel No 08 knives, the edition features the unique Virobloc system, which allows the blade made of modified Sandvik steel 12C27 to be easily and reliably locked. To lock the blade, simply turn the safety ring. The motif is limited to 7,000 pieces worldwide, and each knife is individually numbered.

Für die Kollektion Edition 2017 FRANCE ! hat Opinel drei renommierte Künstler aus drei verschiedenen Ländern dazu eingeladen ein eigenes Design für den Griff des ikonischen Messer Opinel No 08 zu kreieren. Jeder dieser Künstler hat seine eigene Vision von Frankreich umgesetzt. Ale Giorgini aus Vicenza in Italien lehrt unter anderem am IED - European Design Institute in Turin sowie an der Comicschule in Padua. Seine Zeichnungen werden in renommierten Zeitschriften und Zeitungen wie beispielsweise dem Boston Globe, L'Espresso und Il Corriere della Serra veröffentlicht.
Sein Motiv eines Liebespaares in einem typischen französischen Café wird per hochwertigem Sublimationsdruck auf den Buchenholzgriff des Messers mit einer Klinge aus rostfreiem Stahl aufgebracht. Wie alle Opinel No 08 besitzt auch die Edition das einzigartige Virobloc-System, mit dem sich die Klinge aus rostfreiem, modifiziertem Sandvik Stahl 12C27 einfach und zuverlässig arretieren lässt. Um die Klinge festzustellen, muss nur der Sicherungsring gedreht werden. Das Motiv ist weltweit auf 7.000 Stück limitiert und jedes Messer ist einzeln nummeriert.
