The VFG adapter has an M5 external thread and 1/8” internal thread. It fits all VFG cleaning rods for rifles, handguns, and shotguns (in conjunction with the threaded reducing piece and the knurled nut) – or other cleaning rod brands with these threads. The adapter is designed to hold 2 felt cleaning elements. The first felt cleaner is screwed onto the wooden screw thread and thus held firmly on the adapter. This allows you to polish, oil, de-oil, etc. the barrel by moving the cleaning rod back and forth. At the end of the thread, there is a sloping shoulder. When you screw the felt cleaner further up this shoulder on the thread, it is slightly spread in diameter, so that it then sits "tighter" in the barrel. Although more effort is required when pushing it through the barrel – the increased friction resistance also results in a higher cleaning effect. Der VFG-Adapter hat ein M5-Außengewinde und 1/8” Innengewinde. Er passt auf sämtliche VFG-Putzstöcke für Büchsen, Faustfeuerwaffen und Flinten (in Verbindung mit dem Gewindereduzierstück und der Rändelmutter) – oder andere Putzstockfabrikate mit diesen Gewinden. Der Adapter ist zur Aufnahme von 2 Filzreinigungselementen konstruiert. Der erste Filzreiniger wird auf das Holzschraubengewinde aufgeschraubt und so auf dem Adapter festgehalten. Damit kann man durch Hin- und Herbewegen des Putzstockes den Lauf polieren, ölen, entölen, etc. Am Ende des Gewindes befindet sich eine schräg ansteigende Schulter. Wenn man den Filzreiniger auf dem Gewinde weiter auf diese Schulter hinaufschraubt, wird er im Durchmesser noch etwas auseinandergespreizt, so dass er dann „strammer“ im Lauf sitzt. Zwar ist dann beim Durchschieben durch den Lauf etwas mehr Kraftaufwand erforderlich – aber durch den erhöhten Reibungswiderstand ist auch der Reinigungseffekt höher.
