Walther PPQ M2 Sport 5" barrel, Cal. 9 mm x 19, PS, AM
The M series of the WALTHER PPQ was initially presented at the Shot Show 2013 exclusively for US customers. From the IWA 2014 onwards, this version is also available for all other markets. The new M2 version is recognizable by the magazine button on the left side of the grip instead of the previous lever in the trigger guard. The button can be switched to the right side for left-handed users, and the slide catch lever is already designed for ambidextrous use from the factory. The PPQ M2 is chambered in 9 x 19mm and is equipped with a striker-fired mechanism and a pre-tensioned, smooth trigger that releases at 25 N. All other features of the PPQ and thus the technical specifications remain unchanged. The relocation of the button is likely to meet the wishes of many shooters, both among IPSC shooters and in the police. For certain markets, the basic version, referred to as M1 for differentiation, with trigger lever will still be produced in limited quantities. The polymer grip comes with three interchangeable backstraps of varying thicknesses, allowing the grip circumference and hand position to be adjusted to any hand size. Thanks to the HI-GRIP surface on the contact areas of the hand, the pistol sits securely and non-slip in the shooting position. With an overall length of 206 mm and a barrel length of 122 mm (5 inches), the empty pistol weighs only 737 grams. The magazine holds 15 rounds in 9 mm x 19. As accessories, magazines with two additional rounds (17) are available. Die M-Serie der WALTHER PPQ wurde zur Shot Show 2013 zunächst nur für US-Kunden vorgestellt.
Ab der IWA 2014 ist diese Ausführung auch für alle anderen Märkte verfügbar. Die neue M2-Version erkennt man am Magazinknopf auf der linken Griffseite anstelle der bisherigen Wippe im Abzugsbügel. Der Knopf kann für Linkshänder auf die rechte Seite umgesetzt werden, der Verschlussfanghebel ist ab

Die PPQ M2 hat das Kalibern 9 x 19mm und ist ausgestattet mit einem
Schlagbolzenschloss und einem vorgespannten, weichgängigen Abzug, der bei 25 N auslöst. Alle anderen Ausstattungsmerkmale der PPQ und somit auch die technischen Daten bleiben unverändert.
Die Verlagerung des Knopfes dürfte dem Wunsch vieler Schützen entgegenkommen, und dies sowohl unter den IPSC-Schützen wie auch bei der Polizei. Für einzelne Märkte wird die zur Unterscheidung M1 genannte Grundversion mit Auslöserwippe allerdings limitiert weiter gefertigt.
Das Polymergriffstück kommt mit drei austauschbaren, unterschiedlich dicken Rückeneinsätzen, damit sich der Griffumfang und die Handlage an jede Handgröße anpassen lässt. Durch die HI-GRIP-Oberfläche an den Kontaktflächen der Hand liegt die Pistole rutschfest und sicher im Anschlag.
Mit einer Gesamtlänge von 206 mm und einem 122 mm langen Lauf (5 Zoll) wiegt die leere Pistole nur 737 Gramm.
In 9 mm x 19 passen 15 Patronen ins Magazin. Als Zubehör sind Magazine mit jeweils zwei Patronen mehr (17) lieferbar.
