East German AKMS MPi handguard set for AKMS & AK74 DDR NVA Bakelite and plastic // indirect installation also possible for NEDI SDM Type 56

East German AKMS handguard set (AK with underbarrel folding stock or side folding stock). 
The parts are in good condition and match very well in color. I once fitted the upper handguard from Set 1 a bit for an Izhmash Yunker-3 or Saiga.

Set 1 is more medium chocolate brown in color and the shades are rather uniform. It therefore looks a bit more standardized and would be visually better suited for modern rifles in calibers like .223 or 5.45x39, I think.

Set 2 is less uniform in color. The lower handguard leans slightly towards violet in color. The colors still match well and create a coherent natural look. Since it visually still resembles early AK productions, I would rather recommend using this set on an AK in the older caliber 7.62x39.

However, that would only be a stylistic recommendation; of course, you can choose between the two as you like.

The price is per set including pistol grip, upper handguard made of plastic, and lower handguard made of Bakelite. 


Notes:

The grip frame is designed for common AKM / AK74 nut angle and grip screw with 8mm head diameter, so it fits perfectly on common AKs like Cugir, WBP, FEG, Yunker, and Russian AKs.

If you want to install the parts on a Chinese AK (such as SDM / NEDI), modifications would be necessary – feel free to contact me beforehand in that case.

The pistol grip in the middle is only there for color comparison and means nothing. DDR plastic can have many different shades; the piece is actually the slightly pink-colored plastic type.
