Description
The CO2 replica produced by Umarex is a reproduction of the compact Colt Defender. A standard 12g CO2 capsule pressurizes the system. This is directly clamped into the grip. To do this, the grip panels only need to be removed. This is done by pressing the magazine release. The ammunition is loaded in the same way. Under the grip panels, there is an integrated tank for 16 steel balls in caliber 4.5mm BB. A blowback system has been omitted in favor of performance. Thus, the CO2 is used exclusively for propelling the balls and therefore lasts for longer shooting sequences. The Colt Defender CO2 pistol features a Double Action Only trigger and does not need to be cocked. After disengaging the safety, only the trigger of the CO2 weapon needs to be pulled. The sights are a micrometer version replicated but are not adjustable.

Among the numerous replicas or derivatives of the Colt 1911, the Defender replica from Umarex is a very interesting variant. The CO2 pistol is very compact and fits well in the hand. The sharp original has been replicated down to the last detail. Only the slide safety on the right side reveals the CO2 weapon.
The workmanship is also impeccable. All parts have been manufactured with great precision, so nothing rattles. The magazine is integrated into the grip of the Colt Defender pistol and holds 16 balls. The CO2 capsule also finds its place in the grip. Both fittings are possible after pressing the "magazine release" and removing the grip panels. Auf ein Blow Back System wurde zugunsten der Leistung verzichtet. So wird das CO2 ausschließlich zum Vortrieb der Kugeln genutzt und hält daher auch für längere Schussfolgen vor.
