Trappola a doppio ingresso, studiata appositamente per corvidi. Questa trappola per corvidi ha tre compartimenti, uno leggermente più largo degli altri, usato per il richiamo, dove l’esemplare inserito riesce a spiegare le sue ali. Gli altri due compartimenti hanno porticine con speciale disegn che incoraggia gli uccelli ad entrare. I corvidi attratti dai richiami, all’atto di entrare fanno scattare automaticamente la portellina che li intrappola.
Spesso si possono usare delle esche, come uova o gusci di uova, posizionate sopra o dentro i compartimenti, sebbene, nel caso dei corvi sia solo la presenza di un intruso (per esempio l’uccello di richiamo) che li attrae. Per richiamare i corvi in una determinata zona può essere usata qualsiasi esca (pezzetti di carne, piccoli animali morti, frattaglie, ossa, ecc.). L’importante è “pasturare” la zona per diversi giorni prima di avvicinare la gabbia. I migliori risultati si ottengono con gabbie dall’apparenza logora o invecchiata, in quanto i corvidi sono sospettosi dei materiali luccicanti. Cercate il posto più adatto per posizionare la gabbia e le esche, preferibilmente la zona dove questi uccelli si aggregano o spiccano il volo.
