Ballistol Microfiber Patches: Size Matters More Than Quantity The round microfiber patches are used to pick up loosened dirt and cleaning agents as well as to check the cleaning result. The shop offers three diameters and two pack sizes to choose from.
Avoid Wrong Purchase: First check caliber range and adapter, then choose 150 or 500 pieces.
Our Honest Assessment
Patches are great for application, pickup, and final inspection. However, they do not replace a brush or special chemicals when tough deposits need to be removed.
The right size should fit cleanly in the barrel without sticking. A patch that’s too small has too little contact, one that’s too large creates unnecessary resistance.
Works well if … … you have a matching patch adapter and cleaning rod.
… you want to visibly check the cleaning result and residual oil.
… you organize consumables by caliber range.
Less suitable if … … your adapter or cleaning system is not designed for round patches.
… you want to remove stubborn deposits mechanically alone.
… you choose the size based on feel rather than caliber range.
Variant Selection
Ø 15 mm · up to Cal. 4.5 mm For the smallest caliber range set up in Shopify; available as 150-pack.
Ø 21 mm · up to Cal. 7 mm For the medium range; available as 150 or 500 pieces.
Ø 35 mm · from Cal. 7.5 mm For larger caliber ranges; also available as 150 or 500 pieces.
150 vs. 500 Pieces 150 pieces make sense for occasional maintenance; 500 pieces pay off for regular training, multiple firearms, or heavy workshop use.
Limits, Disadvantages and Avoiding Bad Purchases
Don’t press with force: High resistance is a warning sign for wrong size, wrong patch quantity, or unsuitable adapter.
Not a complete system: Cleaning rod, adapter, cleaner, and oil are required separately.
No brushing effect: For stubborn deposits, another cleaning step may be necessary.

FAQ
What size do I need up to caliber 7 mm? In the Shopify variant logic, Ø 21 mm is intended for this. What size is intended for calibers from 7.5 mm? Here the Ø 35 mm variant is set. Do the patches replace a cleaning brush? Not generally. They are especially strong for application, absorption, and control; stubborn deposits may require additional steps. When is the 500-pack worth it? For regular cleaning, multiple firearms, or higher consumption. For occasional maintenance, 150 pieces is usually the more economical entry solution.
Black Raptor · First size, then quantity
For patches, the matching diameter decides the function. If caliber range and adapter match, you only choose the pack size according to your actual consumption. (Show description in original language)
