Rare baïonnette WSC – Wilkinson Swords Company – du contrat pour la Marine de 1943.
Ces baïonnettes se reconnaissent à quelques traits spécifiques – code S294 au talon de lame – finition noircie – lame parkérisée et marque de fabricant de fourreau estampée sur la chape (ce qui est le cas de la notre – c’est donc bien un fourreau de cette commande spéciale et pas un fourreau tardif d’une 1907 de la première guerre mondiale pour lesquelles ces marques n’existent pas).
La pièce elle-même est en excellent état sans aucun coup sur les bois – aucune trace d’oxydation nulle part _ Bouton-pressoir parfaitement fonctionnel – bonne lame parkérisée et dans toute sa longueur – tous ses poinçons bien visibles – le bronzage est en excellent état partout – C’est une des première sortie en octobre 1943 (10/43)
A peine 122.307 de ses baïonnettes 1907 pour la seconde guerre mondiale ont été produites. La plus rare des 1907 sans quillon.

“Scarce British made WW2 Royal Navy Admiralty contract P1907 Enfield 18″ 303 bayonet with scabbard for use with the RN issue Lanchester 9mm Sub Machine Gun and No1 Mk3 .303 SMLE rifles. Marked « WSC » (Wilkinson Sword Company) and marked with the dispersal (secret) code of S294 which was the code for the maker Wilkinson Sword Company. Date 10/43. Only about 122,307 were made in Britain during WW2. Scabbard throat is marked with maker stamp stamp. Blackened finish – Very good as issued condition with no re-furbishment dates.
