Sell on Gunfinder
On Gunfinder, you can sell firearms, ammunition, and equipment – free of charge, with no selling fees. You have two options: list your item yourself and negotiate with interested buyers, or sell your firearm quickly and hassle-free through our buyback service.
What you can sell on Gunfinder
Gunfinder is the marketplace for hunting, sport shooting, and outdoor. You can list, for example:
- permit-required firearms (handguns and long guns)
- freely available firearms such as air rifles and air pistols marked with the "F in a pentagon" symbol, and blank-firing guns
- deactivated firearms
- essential firearm components
- ammunition and components for reloading
- riflescopes, accessories, knives, clothing, and equipment for the field and outdoor use
Important regarding essential firearm components: They are legally equivalent to firearms. The same obligations apply when selling them as with a complete firearm – in particular, verifying the buyer's authorization to acquire.
Two ways to sell your firearm
List it yourself
You can put your listing online in just a few minutes, set your own price, and negotiate directly with interested buyers. This way you reach a large audience of hunters, sport shooters, and dealers. Here's how to create your listing.
Firearm buyback
Don't want to wait for offers or negotiate? With our buyback service, professional firearm buyers will make you an offer, and we'll help you with shipping and paperwork. Here's how the firearm buyback works.
What does selling cost?
Listing on Gunfinder is free for private sellers – no selling fees apply. There's no limit on the number of listings you can post.
Your responsibilities as a seller
As a seller, you are required to verify the buyer's authorization to acquire before transferring a permit-required firearm or essential firearm component. Find out here who is allowed to buy which firearm. Freely available firearms may only be sold to buyers who are of legal age.
Payment and shipping
Gunfinder is a marketplace and is not involved in the transaction between you and the buyer. Payment and shipping are arranged directly between the two of you – similar to classified ads. We recommend cash on collection or a standard bank transfer. PayPal is not an option, as its terms of service exclude the trading of firearms and ammunition. You can read how to ship a firearm in a legally compliant way in our guide to shipping firearms.
The buyer isn't responding or won't pay – what should I do?
Buyers and sellers sometimes take their time responding. But if you don't hear back for several days, you can report the buyer to us – we'll then draw their attention to your message. As long as no purchase agreement has been concluded, you can sell the item to another interested buyer at any time.
If the item has already been shipped and the buyer hasn't paid, give them a little time first – processing and delivery can sometimes take a few days. If things don't resolve themselves, proceed as follows:
- Give the buyer a final deadline for payment or return of the item.
- Report the buyer to us so we can look into it.
- If necessary, file a report with the police and provide all exchanged details (listing number, bank details, phone number, message history).
My listing isn't showing up in search
If you can't find your listing in the search results, it's usually due to an imprecise title. Check the spelling and choose a descriptive title that includes the manufacturer, model, and caliber. Find tips for a easily discoverable listing here.
