Buy Now for private sellers
You want to sell your firearm or equipment directly – without negotiations or auction tension? Then activate the Buy Now feature in your listing. This way, interested buyers can purchase immediately and bindingly. Here’s how it works for private sellers.
What is “Buy Now”?
With “Buy Now” the buyer purchases your item with one click – without waiting for an auction to end or long back and forth. For the buyer, the purchase intent is binding. You as the seller then confirm the sale in the system. Only with your confirmation does the purchase become binding.
This intermediate step avoids conflicts: It can happen that a listing is still briefly visible even though you have already sold elsewhere. That’s why you can first confirm or decline each Buy Now.
Where do you activate “Buy Now”?
You’ll find the setting right when creating your listing. You can use “Buy Now” with:
- Auctions: Set a Buy Now price in addition to the starting price.
- Classifieds: Enter a fixed price and activate the “Buy Now” option.
What happens after the Buy Now?
- The buyer clicks on Buy Now and enters their address details.
- Gunfinder automatically creates a chat between you and the buyer.
- In the chat, you sort out everything else: You provide your bank details (IBAN), discuss the shipping, and request the necessary purchase authorization if needed.
You handle payment and shipping directly with each other – Gunfinder is not involved in this.
No invoice needed
As a private seller, you are not required – and through Gunfinder also not able – to create an invoice. This function is only available to commercial dealers. For private sales, this is common and usually not a problem for buyers.
Tips for a smooth sale
- Clarify all important details directly in the chat – the faster you respond, the better.
- Have necessary documents like the purchase authorization sent fully and legibly.
- Ship only after payment has been received – for the safety of both sides.
