Buy It Now for private sellers

You want to sell your firearm or equipment directly – without negotiations or auction suspense? Then enable the Buy It Now feature on your listing. This allows interested buyers to purchase immediately and bindingly. Here's how it works as a private seller.

What is "Buy It Now"?

With "Buy It Now", the buyer purchases your item with a single click – no waiting for an auction to end or lengthy back-and-forth. The purchase request is binding for the buyer. You as the seller then confirm the sale in the system. The purchase only becomes binding once you confirm it.

This intermediate step helps avoid conflicts: it can happen that a listing remains briefly visible even though you've already sold the item elsewhere. That's why you can either confirm or decline each Buy It Now request first.

Where do you activate "Buy It Now"?

You'll find the setting directly when creating your listing. You can use "Buy It Now" for:

• Auctions: Set a Buy It Now price in addition to the starting price.
• Classifieds: Enter a fixed price and enable the "Buy It Now" option.

What happens after a Buy It Now purchase?

1. The buyer clicks Buy It Now and enters their address details.
2. Gunfinder automatically creates a chat between you and the buyer.
3. In the chat, you sort out everything else: you share your bank details (IBAN), discuss shipping, and request any required proof of purchase eligibility if needed.

Payment and shipping are handled directly between the two of you – Gunfinder is not involved.

No invoice required

As a private seller, you are not obligated – and through Gunfinder also not able – to issue an invoice. This feature is only available to commercial dealers. With private sales, this is standard practice and usually not an issue for buyers.

Tips for a smooth sale

• Sort out everything important directly in the chat – the faster you respond, the better.
• Make sure any required documents, such as proof of purchase eligibility, are sent to you completely and legibly.
• Only ship after receiving payment – for the security of both parties.
