Create listing

Updated on July 20, 2026

A good listing is created in just a few minutes – and determines how quickly and at what price you sell. Here's how to do it.

How to post a listing

  1. Click Sell now at the top.
  2. Choose the right category – the more specific, the easier it is for interested buyers to find your listing.
  3. Enter a descriptive title, condition, price, zip code, and – for firearms and ammunition – the caliber.
  4. Upload several good photos (up to 10). Tips for great item photos can be found here.
  5. Publish your listing.

Choosing the right title

Many high-quality firearms are listed online – but they're often hard to find because the title is too vague. "Grandpa's old rifle" doesn't mean much to buyers or search engines. Instead, write your title like this:

  1. Manufacturer
  2. Model
  3. Caliber (in brackets)
  4. if applicable: the riflescope

For example: Merkel Helix (.308 Win) & Swarovski Z8i 2-16x50 P.

Setting the price

The minimum price on Gunfinder is €0.01. Use the market value as your guide by checking comparable listings in the search results. Not sure what your firearm is worth? Here's how to determine the value of your firearm.

What makes a great listing

Show the condition honestly and completely. Knowledgeable buyers pay close attention to wear parts as well as the bore, chamber, and muzzle – these should be clearly visible in the photos. More telling than a round count is the overall condition: well-maintained bluing and sharp rifling in the barrel speak for themselves. If the firearm shoots particularly accurately, include a target photo and mention it in the description.

Editing or deleting a listing

You can edit or delete your listing at any time. Click the user icon in the top right and open My Listings. From there you can find, edit, and delete your listings.

How long does my listing stay active?

Listings automatically expire after four weeks, so that already-sold items don't stay online. Before expiry, we'll send you an email letting you renew your listing with a single click.

Which listings are prohibited?

Items that violate laws or public decency are not permitted, in particular:

  • items prohibited under the Waffengesetz or the War Weapons Control Act
  • propaganda materials and symbols of unconstitutional organizations
  • items that infringe copyright, personal rights, or trademark rights
  • explosive substances, propellant powders, hazardous chemicals, and poisonous or radioactive materials
  • pornographic and youth-endangering items

Gunfinder reserves the right to remove listings that violate the Terms of Service or applicable law.
