Area 419 · ZERO Press · Matrix Organization
Fix matrices reproducibly without fiddling on the densely loaded turret
The ZERO-Press locking rings are a system upgrade for permanently set up matrices. Wide contact surface, internal wrench engagement, and the matching thread variant make for a clearly documented loading bench setup.
Decisive for purchase: 7/8×14 or 1-1/4×12

Black-Raptor purchase check: The ring improves the mechanical baseline but does not replace correct matrix adjustment or measurement checks on shoulder dimension, seating depth, or concentricity. The benefit mainly arises with several permanently mounted matrices.
Does this fit your setup?

Fits well
ZERO press with matching 7/8×14, 1-1/4×12, or hybrid turret
several matrices should remain set up
you want to tighten the ring from inside the tight turret

Fits rather not
Thread or clearance is unclear
you need an especially slim standard ring
you expect correction of worn threads or incorrect settings

Choose the right variant

7/8″ Multi-Pack Four 7/8×14 rings plus wrench – useful for four standard matrices.

7/8″ Turret-Pack Nine 7/8×14 rings plus wrench – for a fully loaded ZERO 7/8″ turret.

1-1/4″ Multi-Pack Four 1-1/4×12 rings plus wrench – only for correspondingly large matrices and turrets.

Hybrid Multi-Pack Two rings per thread size plus wrench – suitable for mixed equipment.

Features with practical impact

Wide contact surface The outer diameter of 1.685″ distributes the contact on the turret; outside the ZERO system, lateral space must be checked.

0.350″ thread engagement More engagement supports a stable fit but does not make damaged or unsuitable threads usable.

17-4PH stainless steel The schwa
The nitride finish is robust; clean threads and controlled tightening remain mandatory.

Internal key slot The key engages from above – practical when adjacent dies leave little space on the outside.

Avoid limits and bad purchases

Don’t guess: 7/8×14 and 1-1/4×12 are not interchangeable. Check the actual thread designation of die and turret as well as the space for 1.685″ outer diameter and 0.500″ ring thickness. Excessive tightening torque can stress the ring, die, or turret.
Technical data – and what they mean

Thread variants 7/8×14 and 1-1/4×12 – strictly determine the matching pack.

Outer diameter 1.685″ / approx. 42.8 mm – check clearance to neighboring stations.

Thickness 0.500″ / 12.7 mm – affects the available adjustment travel.

Material 17-4PH stainless steel, black nitride – for durable, clean bench use.

Scope of delivery
The selected pack Area-419 locking rings plus matching die key made of hard-anodized aluminum. Dies, turret, press, and other tools are not included.
Assembly, inspection and maintenance

Relieve the press; remove powder, primers and ammunition from the work area.
Check thread size, thread condition and clearance.
Adjust die according to manufacturer instructions, place ring flat and tighten carefully.
Use a gauge case to check and document relevant dimensions.
Remove chips and dirt dry; do not reuse damaged parts.

FAQ
Can I swap the sizes? No. 7/8×14 and 1-1/4×12 must fit exactly to die and turret.
Does the ring automatically improve the ammunition? No. It supports reproducible seating; adjustment, case quality and measurement control still determine the result.
Which pack is intended for a full 7/8″ ZERO turret? The turret pack contains nine 7/8×14 rings and the matching key.
Can I use the rings in a foreign press? Only if thread, seating surface, adjustment travel and lateral clearance fit securely.
How tight are the rings tightened? Carefully according to manufacturer specifications, without improvised overtightening. Then confirm die position with a gauge case.

Black-Raptor classification: Useful for a cleanly organized ZERO loading bench with several permanently set up dies. For a single die or unclear foreign systems, a standard ring is usually more targeted. (Show description in original language)

Area 419 ZERO Press · Lock Rings

Vier Varianten – vier klare Einsatzzwecke

Was ist beim Anziehen wichtig?
