Replacement drum instead of a second machine
Continue using the working 7-liter base
The Frankford Arsenal 909789 is the original replacement and spare drum for the large Platinum Series Rotary Tumbler. It’s the right choice if drive and timer are present – and the wrong one if you actually need a complete machine or accessories for the Rotary Tumbler Lite.
Fits well
as a replacement for a damaged drum of the Frankford Arsenal Rotary Tumbler 7 L
as a second, prepared drum for consecutive batches
if motor base, rollers, and timer of the existing device work perfectly
if MPN 909789 or UPC 661120097891 is being searched for
Fits rather not
for the smaller Rotary Tumbler Lite; no approval for this
as a universal container for third-party devices or visually similar tumblers
if motor, rollers, or control are missing or defective
if two batches are supposed to run simultaneously – daf
Why two drives are needed
Purchase check: First platform, then drum
For this spare part, the deciding factor is not the estimated diameter, but the assigned platform. Frankford Arsenal lists 909789 as "Spare Rotary Tumbler Drum" for the large Platinum-Series Rotary platform. The associated 7-liter system is described by the manufacturer as having a two-layer, rubberized drum.
Identity Frankford Arsenal 909789, item number EU1000283, UPC 661120097891.
Compatibility Platinum Series Rotary Tumbler / Rotary Tumbler Kit in the 7-liter version.
Not a complete unit Motor base, rollers, timer, and a second drive are not included in this item.
Capacity read correctly 7 liters is the drum volume; the actual batch depends on case size and process.
What the design changes in the process
Switch instead of refilling: An additional drum can be prepared for the next run while the previous batch is still being processed. However, it does not shorten the runtime of the existing base.
Rubberized inner lining: In the associated 7-liter system, the molded rubber lining dampens operating noise and protects cases from direct contact with a hard drum wall.
Large format: Frankford Arsenal states up to 1,000 .223 Remington cases as a size reference for the 7-liter platform. This is a manufacturer example for the entire system, not a guaranteed quantity for every caliber and load.
Original assignment: Especially with wet tumbling, secure fit and matching seals are more important than just roughly similar geometry.
Limits and avoiding bad purchases
The 909789 expands the workflow, not the machine performance. Only one drum can run at a time on an existing base. Fit for the Rotary Tumbler Lite and devices from other manufacturers is not confirmed. If the cause of a failure lies in the drive, rollers, or timer, a new drum will not fix the problem.
Important before a wet run: Check seals, sealing surfaces, and drum fit. Worn or improperly fitting sealing parts must not be compensated by overtightening or improvised parts.
User and instructor tips
Match model ID with existing stock: Clearly identify the existing 7-liter platform before ordering; appearance alone is not enough.
Fill drum only outside the base: This makes it easier to cleanly check sealing surfaces and seals before placing the unit on the rollers.
Document loading systematically: Note case type, quantity, medium, and runtime. This turns "up to 1,000 .223" into a reliable own process for the calibers actually used.
Clearly mark change drums: For different media or cleaning approaches, clear assignment helps avoid residues and mix-ups.
Do not expect parallel operation: The second drum saves setup time between batches; simultaneous cleaning requires a second compatible base.
Choose the right alternative
Spare drum 909789: useful with an intact 7-liter base and need for replacement or faster batch switching.
Complete Platinum Series Rotary Tumbler 7 L: the right solution if drive or control is missing, the existing base is defective, or two batches really need to run simultaneously.
Rotary Tumbler Lite: a standalone smaller platform. Its accessories are not automatically interchangeable with 909789.

FAQ about the Frankford Arsenal 909789
Is the 909789 a complete case tumbler? No. Frankford Arsenal explicitly sells it as a spare drum. Drive, rollers, and timer are not part of this item.
For which device is the drum intended? For the large Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Rotary Tumbler platform with 7-liter drum volume.
Does it fit the Rotary Tumbler Lite? Compatibility with the Lite is not confirmed. Therefore, 909789 should not be ordered for it.
Can I clean two batches simultaneously with a second drum? Not on the same base. The spare drum facilitates preparing consecutive batches; parallel operation requires a second drive.
What does the specification "up to 1,000 .223 cases" mean? This is the manufacturer's capacity example for the associated 7-liter platform. Different calibers, media amounts, and process parameters change the practical batch size.

Frankford Arsenal · 909789 · 7 Liter
