Das Flat8 lohnt sich vor allem, wenn Breite, ruhiger Stand und bequemes Ein- und Aussteigen wichtiger sind als minimales Packmaß. Die acht Beine verteilen die Auflage auf mehrere Punkte; auf weichem Zeltboden bleiben ausreichend große Unterlagen unter den Füßen trotzdem sinnvoll.
Passt gut, wenn … … du im Auto, Camper, Angel- oder Basecamp unterwegs bist und eine breite, höhenverstellbare Liege für mehrere Nächte suchst.
Passt eher nicht, wenn … … du lange Tragewege, sehr kleines Packmaß oder Ultraleicht-Trekking planst.

Bei kühlen Nächten ist das sinnvoll. Unter einem Feldbett zirkuliert Luft; die Polsterung ersetzt keine gezielte Wärmedämmung. Warum die Höhe nicht immer maximal stellen? Mehr Höhe erleichtert den Einstieg, kann auf weichem oder unebenem Untergrund aber weniger ruhig wirken. Die passende Höhe richtet sich nach Zelt, Boden und Nutzer.
