Use Picatinny rings on a flat 9–11 mm dovetail rail
The UTG MNT-DT2PW01 consists of two compact snap-on adapters. Each adapter is inserted into the base of a compatible Picatinny ring and then connects that ring to a flat .22-/Airgun dovetail rail.
The most important purchase check: 9–11 mm only describes the adjustable width range. Profile shape, stop-pin hole, ring base, build height, and load of the entire setup must also fit.

Our honest assessment
The MNT-DT2PW01 is a short, lightweight interface solution for two separate ring positions. Instead of mounting a long Picatinny rail on the system, one adapter sits directly in the base of a compatible Picatinny ring. This keeps the setup low and allows free choice of ring spacing.
The limitation is just as important: no continuous accessory rail is created. For long mounts, flexible accessory positions, or a larger clamping surface, a full rail is objectively the better solution. A nominal 11 mm rail is also not automatically geometrically suitable.

Purchase check: five points decide
1. Dovetail profile
Leapers specifies a spring-loaded adjustable width from 9 to 11 mm and explicitly a flat dovetail counterpart. Width alone does not replace checking flank angle, support, and condition of the rail.
2. Ring base
The adapter is inserted into the base of a Picatinny scope ring. It is designed for most Picatinny rings and mounts; geometry and proper fit of the specific base must still be checked.
3. Stop-pin counterpart
The removable threaded pin may only rest in a properly positioned stop-pin hole. If this counterpart is missing, remove the pin before mounting with the supplied tool.
4. Ring spacing and height
Each adapter is 25.4 mm long and 6.1 mm high. Two suitable ring positions must be present on the rail and main tube simultaneously; objective clearance and eye relief remain part of the overall check.
5. Load capacity
The adapter changes the interface but does not grant a general approval for recoil or impact. Rail, ring, optic, and stop-pin must be evaluated as a system.
Direct mounting as an alternative
For a 25.4 mm scope, a direct dovetail solution like the UTG RQ2D1156 QD mounts for 9–11 mm can avoid the additional interface change. Tube diameter and height must then fit exactly.
What the features practically mean
Two separate adapters
The position can be aligned to the actual distance of two ring bases. At the same time, the additional mounting length of a continuous rail is missing.
Spring-loaded 9–11 mm range
The adapters can be adjusted to rail widths between 9 and 11 mm. However, the spring mechanism does not compensate for a wrong profile or damaged flanks.
One Picatinny slot per adapter
The crossbar of the ring base receives a defined counterpart. This makes sense for two separate rings but not for accessories with a long or multiple-grooved base.
Removable stop-pin
With a suitable hole, the pin can provide additional securing against longitudinal movement. Without a matching counterpart, it is removed and must not be clamped against a closed surface.
Typical bad purchases, disadvantages, and limits
Confusing dovetail with Picatinny: A flat 9–11 mm dovetail rail is needed below; the Picatinny ring base sits on top.
Reading 11 mm as a universal fit: nominal width, profile angle, and support can differ between platforms.
Expecting a full rail: The set provides two short attachment points, not a continuous rail.
Forcing stop-pin: Without a suitable hole, the pin is removed. Drilling or reworking is not a planned mounting solution.
Deriving load approval: The adapter specification neither replaces the airgun approval of the optic nor the check after the first shot series.
Mounting, checking, and care
Prepare safely
Fully unload the system, remove the magazine, and check the cartridge chamber or loading status. Keep mounting surfaces clean, dry, and free of burrs.
Clarify stop-pin first
If a suitable hole is present, place the adapter and only tighten the pin with the included tool until
to the bore bottom. Remove the set screw without drilling.
Insert adapter into the ring base
Open or unlock the Picatinny ring, insert the adapter into its base, and place the ring with the adapter straight on the dovetail rail. Then close the ring exclusively according to its own instructions.
Final check
Both adapters must sit evenly. After the first shooting series and after transport or hiking, check for loose connections, contact marks, and unchanged point of impact.
Practical and control tips
Dry fit
Before final tightening, check ring spacing, eye relief, and objective clearance in the natural shooting position. This early check shows if two short mounting points are sufficient.
Make the fit visible
A fine, removable reference mark on the rail and adapter makes possible longitudinal movement easier to detect. It does not replace mechanical inspection.
No forced fit
If an adapter is crooked, only grips at points, or the ring base does not close cleanly, stop the installation. Do not rework adapter or firearm, but have the profile fit professionally checked.
Honestly assess evidence
The decisive factor is your own setup: Both adapters must sit fully, the ring bases close cleanly, and their position hold after the first shooting series. If there is play, movement, or repeated need to retighten, stop use and have the fit checked.
Which alternative fits better?
More mounting options: MNT-DTW145
The UTG MNT-DTW145 universal adapter for 9–11 mm is the better choice if a longer Picatinny surface and more positions are needed. It builds higher and requires its own profile and load check.
Picatinny rings after adaptation
The UTG MAX STRENGTH 25.4 mm rings show the alternative ring side of the setup. They only make sense if tube diameter, height, and the specific Picatinny counterpart match.

FAQ about the UTG MNT-DT2PW01
Does the adapter fit every 11 mm ri
ene? No. 11 mm is within the adjustable clamping range, but the counterpart must be flat. Flank angle, support, condition, and available length must also fit.
Is 3/8 inch compatible? 3/8 inch corresponds to about 9.5 mm and is thus within the width range. But that does not confirm the profile shape. Only a clean, full-surface contact allows the specific setup.
Can I use Weaver rings? Leapers calls them Picatinny rings and mounts on the current US site; UTG Europe uses Picatinny/Weaver. Since ring bases can vary, the specific base must be checked.
What is the stop-pin for? It can provide additional security against longitudinal movement if there is a matching hole. Without a matching hole, the set screw is removed according to the instructions.
Does a continuous Picatinny rail form? No. Each of the two adapters forms a short mounting area with one slot. For long or flexibly positioned mounts, a full rail adapter is more sensible.
Are Picatinny rings included? No. Included are two adapters, their stop-pins, and the tool for the stop-pin. Rings and optics must be chosen separately to fit.
Is the set approved for spring-piston air rifles? The manufacturer assigns it to .22-/Airgun-dovetail systems but does not specify a general load limit. Optics, rings, profile fit, and stop-pin must be suitable together for the specific recoil.
