Stahl Touch-Up Bluing · 50 ml / 1 l
Ballistol Quick Bluing: for small bare steel spots – not for aluminum Quick bluing is intended for local touch-ups on suitable steel and iron parts. It helps to visually darken scratches and bare spots and prepare them for subsequent preservation.
Important: Prepare the surface clean and grease-free. The liquid does not replace degreaser or later protective care.

Our honest assessment

For small repair spots, single bluing is sensible if you already have brush, degreaser, gloves, and preservation. If you lack this entire process, the quick bluing set is the more coherent choice.
The result depends on alloy, existing surface, preparation, and working method. A perfect colour match to an existing factory bluing is not guaranteed.

Works well if … … you want to touch up small scratches or bare spots on steel/iron.
… you already have the necessary preparation and preservation supplies.
… you want to choose between 50 ml for single jobs and 1 litre for higher consumption.
willst.

Not really suitable if … … the part is made of aluminium or zinc die-cast.
… you expect a complete new bluing.
… you can’t cover preparation and aftercare separately.

Practical use

Small repair spots Suitable for local scratches and bare edges on matching steel parts.

Controlled application Thin, targeted work makes more sense for small areas than generous application.

50 ml Practical for occasional single jobs and small repairs.

1 litre More economical for frequent workshop use or significantly higher consumption.

Limits, disadvantages and avoiding bad purchases

Not for aluminium: A separate aluminium bluing system is intended for that.
No finish guarantee: Colour tone and uniformity depend on material and pretreatment.
Aftercare remains mandatory: Bluing is not an independent permanent preservation.

FAQ
Is the fast bluing suitable for aluminium? No. Confirmed product data assign this product to steel and iron. When is the set better than the single bluing? When you still lack degreaser, application accessories and preservation. Which packaging size makes sense? 50 ml suits occasional repairs. 1 litre is more for regular workshop use. Is the result identical to factory bluing? Not guaranteed. Alloy, old finish and preparation influence colour tone and uniformity. Must the surface be degreased before bluing? Yes. A uniformly clean, grease-free steel or iron surface is crucial; adjacent materials must be protected.
Black Raptor · Material before chemistry
Fast bluing makes sense for small steel spots – if the complete pre- and aftercare process is already in place. For aluminium or large-scale finish work, it’s the wrong solution. (Show description in original language)
