GRAYL Mission EXP Hip Pack 4.5L – modular hip pack for water, EDC and quick missions
When a backpack is too much but pockets aren’t enough, you need access on your body.
The GRAYL Mission EXP Hip Pack 4.5L is a modular hip/sling bag for outdoor, travel, hunting grounds, city and short missions – with special strengths for water bottles, EDC and quick organization.
According to GRAYL, the 4.5L version offers expandable storage up to 6.5L, MOLLE webbing, BottleDrop™/BottleLock® systems and modular Velcro/G-Mod organization. This makes it much more than a classic fanny pack.
Why exactly the Mission EXP 4.5L?
✔ 4.5L storage, expandable up to 6.5L according to the manufacturer
✔ BottleDrop™ and BottleLock® for GRAYL or standard bottles
✔ MOLLE webbing for modular expansion
✔ Velcro/G-Mod organization for small items
✔ Ideal for water, EDC, travel documents, snacks and filter accessories
✔ Quick access without a backpack
Why this product?
The Mission EXP Hip Pack is made for situations where you want to stay agile. Water, knife, multitool, flashlight, phone, keys, electrolytes, spare cartridge or small emergency items stay directly accessible.
You carry water and EDC without a big backpack
You can secure a GRAYL bottle on the outside
You get more structure than with normal hip packs
You can use the bag as a hip pack or sling
You have expansion options for G-Mod or MOLLE accessories
Hip Pack or Bottle Sling?
❌ Bottle Sling: focused more on one bottle plus small front pocket
✔ Mission EXP Hip Pack: more storage, more organization, more modular for EDC
If you only want to carry the bottle, the sling is enough. If you want to organize additional gear, the hip pack is stronger.
Practical tip: plan access first, then volume
Pack only things you really need quickly into the hip pack: water, flashlight, knife, fire, documents, electrolytes, small first aid.
Heavy reserve gear belongs in the backpack – the hip pack is your quick access, not your full pack.

Our assessment
The Mission EXP Hip Pack 4.5L is especially useful for users who don’t always want to carry a backpack but still want more than just phone and keys.
The strong point is the water integration. Many hip packs can carry EDC but no sensible filter bottle. Here GRAYL has thought it through: secure bottle, organize small items, keep access.
For long trips it doesn’t replace a big backpack. As a supplement or short solo solution it’s very strong.
Who it’s for
Travel: when documents, water and EDC should stay close to the body
Hunting & grounds: for short patrols without a backpack
Outdoor
& Hiking: when you need quick access with light weight
GRAYL users: when filter bottle and accessories should be carried compactly
EDC: when organization is more important than maximum carrying capacity
Why exactly for you?
If you want to combine water, small gear, and quick access without carrying a backpack, the Mission EXP Hip Pack is the right solution.
Important note:
The bag does not filter water and does not replace a filter bottle. It is for organization and transport.
Check before purchase whether GRAYL bottle, G-Mod pouches, or other accessories are included or need to be added separately.

FAQ
Does a GRAYL bottle fit?
Yes, the bag is designed with BottleDrop™ and BottleLock® for GRAYL and standard bottles.
Is it more a hip pack or sling?
Both are possible depending on how you carry it. That’s what makes it flexible for travel, everyday, and outdoor.
Does it replace a backpack?
For short trips yes, for longer tours no. It’s strong for quick access and small gear.
Is a bottle included?
Only with corresponding bundle offers. By default, the bag should be understood as a carrying system.
When is the 4.5L version worth it?
When you want to carry more than just a bottle and phone – for example EDC, snack, small first aid, or filter accessories.
Especially in the area of GRAYL Hip Pack, BottleLock bag, and outdoor EDC, the Mission EXP 4.5L is strong because it combines water and quick access in a modular system. (Show description in original language)
