Sordin Supreme MIL CC Neckband – Nexus Communication Hearing Protection without Headband
When a helmet, headgear, or equipment needs space on top of the head, a headband is often the wrong choice. The Sordin Supreme MIL CC Neckband moves the support to the neck while maintaining Nexus communication and active hearing protection.
This model is designed for professional setups where radio, hearing protection, and headgear must work together – without a classic band pressing under the helmet.
Why exactly this model?
✔ Neckband version of the MIL-CC platform
✔ Nexus TP120 for compatible PTT/radio solutions
✔ Boom microphone for voice transmission
✔ SNR 24 dB according to available product data
✔ Free top of the head for helmet, cap, or headgear
✔ RFI/MIL logic according to manufacturer/dealer information
✔ Level-dependent ambient amplification
✔ Colors: Green or Black
Why this product?
The neckband version makes sense when headband and helmet/headgear don’t fit together.
You keep the top of your head free
You reduce pressure points under helmet or cap
You continue to use Nexus radio communication
You retain active ambient awareness
You get a better solution for mixed head setups
MIL/Comms headset vs. regular active hearing protection
❌ Regular active hearing protection: hear surroundings and dampen shots ✔ MIL/Comms headset: additionally designed for radio/audio integration, RFI protection, and robust operational logic This only pays off if communication, helmet, or professional use are really part of your setup.
Instructor tip: test radio dry first
Don’t test PTT, plug wiring, radio, and microphone position only on the range.
Communication hearing protection is only better if speech is reliably transmitted and hearing protection still seals properly.
Key features
Active communication hearing protection with neckband
Nexus TP120 / U-174 communication interface
Boom microphone for radio operation
SNR 24 dB according to available product info
Free top of the head for helmet/cap use
Level-dependent ambient sound playback
Color variants: Green or Black
Our assessment
The MIL CC Neckband is not a comfort upgrade for everyone but a setup solution. If you have helmet, cap, or headband issues, it makes much more sense than a classic band.
The downside: neckband systems must be properly adjusted. If the ear cups don’t fit correctly due to wrong tension, you lose protection.
For teams with radio needs and headgear, this version is clearly more logical than a normal MIL-CC headband.
Who it’s for
Helmet users: when no band should interfere on top of the head
Professional users: with PTT/Nexus radio
Instructors & teams: when communication and protection come together
Outdoor/operational users: with cap, hood, or headgear
Not suitable for:
Users without radio needs
Users who prefer a quick and simple standard headband
Pure range use without helmet/cap – Pro-X is often easier there
Important note
Radio/Nexus/AU
X-compatibility depends on PTT, plug assignment, radio, and system configuration. Always check technically before use.
Hearing protection effectiveness also depends on fit. Helmet straps, glasses, cables, neckband, and padding must not lift the ear cup.
Gel pads, glasses, and sealing – why it matters
The best electronics are useless if the hearing protection doesn’t seal properly. Shooting glasses, safety glasses, or thin temples often create a small gap between the cushion and the head.
Standard cushions: work but cause pressure faster and react more sensitively to glasses temples.
Gel pads: adapt better to head shape and glasses temples.
Practical result: less sound leakage, fewer pressure points, longer wearing time.
Trainer tip: after putting on, feel around the ear cup – if a glasses temple visibly lifts the seal, you lose protection.
For glasses wearers and frequent shooters, gel pads are almost never just comfort. They often make the difference between “fits somehow” and truly effective sealing.
Features & operation
Active ambient amplification: important sounds remain audible while impulses are reduced.
Communication: depending on model via Nexus TP120, AUX, or Flex-Com solution.
Microphone position: position boom microphone close enough to the mouth but not directly in the airflow.
Directional hearing: ear cups must fit correctly – twisted or poorly fitting cups worsen perception.
Technical data – with practical classification
Type: active communication hearing protection with neckband

FAQ
Why neckband?
Because the top of the head remains free and headband pressure under helmet or cap is avoided.
Is neckband worse for protection?
Not automatically. The key is correct adjustment and clean sealing.
Does the Nexus plug fit my radio?
Only with matching PTT and compatible wiring. This must be checked before use.
When choose ARC instead of neckband?
If you want to attach hearing protection directly to the helmet, ARC is cleaner. Neckband is more flexible with changing headgear.
Is the model suitable for regular sports shooters?
Usually not. Without radio and headgear needs, a Pro-X/X2 is simpler and cheaper.
Especially with Sordin MIL hearing protection, communication hearing protection, and active hearing protection for duty and range, the right system choice determines protection, communication, and comfort.

✔ SNR 24 dB laut vorhandenen Produktdaten
Ausbilder-Tipp: Funk zuerst trocken testen
Wichtigste Eigenschaften
Aktiver Kommunikationsgehörschutz mit Nackenbügel
Nexus TP120 / U-174-Kommunikationsschnittstelle
Boom-Mikrofon für Funkbetrieb
SNR 24 dB laut vorhandener Produktangabe
Praxisfolge: weniger Schallleck, weniger Druckstellen, längere Tragezeit.

Wann lieber ARC statt Neckband?
