Calm at the ready. Details on target.
Rested on the 100-meter range, a small group quickly becomes a real challenge: The Hugo SCOL-32 brings the target close with 6- to 24x magnification, keeps its operation clear with ¼-MOA clicks, and protects the turrets from accidental adjustment with a lock.
Its strength lies in controlled shots and repeatable sequences – not in quick targets at short range. Honestly check below if this profile fits your use.
For deployment advice
Our honest assessment
The SCOL-32 is a 6–24×50 scope with a second focal plane reticle, illuminated VOI-10BDC reticle, and parallax adjustment from 10 yards. It is aimed at sport shooters as well as hunting and varmint situations with a steady rest. The features are practical for this price range; however, clear limits appear in low light, fast-moving hunts, and ambitious long-range setups.
Important: The BDC distances are according to the manufacturer calibrated for 10x
Magnification designed for. They do not replace your own shot pattern and trajectory testing with weapon, ammunition, mount, and actual zeroing distance.
Works well if …
you mostly shoot from a rest, bipod, or a stable support; want to engage targets cleanly at medium range; use MOA adjustment; are looking for a complete package with 25.4 mm Weaver rings, sunshade, and protective caps.
Less suitable if …
you need a wide field of view for fast or very close targets; want to read reticle values consistently at every magnification; expect a lot of elevation travel, zero stop, or pronounced low-light performance; your mounting base does not support Weaver/Picatinny.
What the features mean in practice
6–24× and 50 mm objective
Six times is already a narrow entry and thus unsuitable for hectic close range. At 24× the calculated exit pupil drops to about 2.1 mm; eye position, light, and a steady rest then become significantly more important.
SFP reticle with 10× reference
The reticle remains optically the same size when zooming. The intended BDC distances apply according to the manufacturer at 10×. At other magnifications, hold points must be newly determined.
¼ MOA and 40 MOA total travel
One click corresponds to about 7.3 mm at 100 m. The turrets can be reset to zero and locked after zeroing. 40 MOA total adjustment is sufficient for many range applications but not a generous reserve for extreme distances or steep trajectories.
Parallax from 10 yards
The side adjustment helps align the target image and reticle at the distance. The scale is a starting point: what matters is the control in the actual target image, not just the printed number.
Illumination with 11 + 1 levels
Eleven red brightness levels and a very low NV level facilitate reticle recognition. The NV marking is not a built-in night vision device; it only indicates a weak illumination level for compatible applications.
IPX4 and 1-inch main tube
IPX4 means protection against splashing water, not submersion. The 25.4 mm tube keeps the system slim but offers less adjustment reserve than many larger tubes. After wet use, wipe dry and allow to air out openly.
Instructor and user tips
A specialist dealer describes the exactly assigned SCOL-32 as having a solid feel for the price, clear operation, and distinctly clicking turrets. This feedback should be interpreted appropriately: a clean click is helpful but does not replace a box test or a renewed zero check after transport or mounting work.
From manufacturer documents and clearly assignable application notes, a step-by-step procedure emerges: first zero at moderate magnification, adjust parallax and diopter separately, then document the actual BDC hold points with the used load. At 24× do not “fight” a drifting image but correct head position and rest.
Which alternative makes sense?
Without illumination
If you can do without an illuminated reticle, the Hugo SCOL-31 6–24×50 SFP is the obvious sister solution.
Slightly wider entry
For applications where six times is too narrow, the Hugo SCOL-30 4–16×44 GT SFP starts at 4× and remains illuminated.
Reticle values across the zoom range
If a first focal plane reticle is more important to you, check out the Veyron SCFF-23 6–24×44 FFP. FFP and SFP are different operating concepts – decide based on application, not buzzwords.

Mounting, Safety and Care
Before mounting
Unload firearm, bolt open and ammunition out of the working area. Check rail, ring diameter, height and objective clearance. Use only torque values from firearm, rail and ring manufacturers; a general value would be unreliable.
Eye relief and alignment
Mount at highest magnification in natural shooting position. Leave enough eye relief for recoil, align reticle vertically and tighten rings evenly. Do not crush tube by overtightening.
Zeroing
Check mechanical function, point of impact and turret lock after mounting. Confirm BDC hold points with your own combination of firearm, mount, ammunition and environmental conditions on a safe range.
Care
Remove dust first with a blower or soft brush, then clean with suitable optic cloth. Dry after rain and store ventilated. Remove battery for longer storage and keep sealing surfaces clean.
FAQ about the Hugo SCOL-32
Is the scope suitable for fast driven hunt situations?
Rather not. The lowest magnification of 6× and the accordingly limited field of view suit calm, controlled shots better than close, fast-moving targets.
Can I use the BDC markings directly at 24×?
Not according to manufacturer specifications. The SFP reticle of the SCOL-32 references the intended distances at 10×. For other magnifications, the values must be practically re-determined.
Is IPX4 sufficient for rain?
IPX4 stands for splash water protection. Normal rain is covered; submersion or cleaning under strong water jet are not included.
Are suitable mounting rings included?
Yes, a pair of 25.4 mm rings for Weaver/Picatinny rails is included according to the manufacturer. Whether height and rail fit your firearm must be checked before mounting.
Does the SCOL-32 have a zero stop?
The manufacturer mentions zero reset and turret lock but no mechanical zero stop. The lock prevents unintended rotation; it does not automatically limit the return path to zero position.
