Vector Optics MAV-P15 · 1.5″ Cantilever Riser 38 mm saddle height – deliberately high, not automatically better The MAV-P15 combines a 21 mm Picatinny rail with an Aimpoint Micro-compatible red dot and raises the sight line significantly. The cantilever shape also moves the optic forward.
Our honest assessment The 38 mm version is a special solution for setups that specifically require a very high sight line. On traditionally stocked firearms or with a low cheek weld, this exact height can become a disadvantage.
Fits well if … you want a 21 mm Picatinny, a confirmed Aimpoint Micro footprint, and explicitly a very high, fixed cantilever mount.
Fits less if … you need a low sight line, QD, 11 mm dovetail, or a different red dot footprint.
Features and practical effect
38 mm saddle height The mount raises the sight significantly. This can facilitate a more upright head position but must fit the stock.
Cantilever offset The forward offset helps with positioning on limited rail space.
Aimpoint Micro footprint The upper interface must be checked separately from the lower Picatinny mount.
45 g net weight Light for the height, but not without impact on the overall setup.
Limits, disadvantages and Avoiding Bad Purchases
Very high: 38 mm is not a neutral standard height. Ergonomics and mechanical sights can change significantly. Sight line offset: A higher optical axis changes the geometric difference to the barrel axis; this must be considered when setting up the setup. No QD: The mount is designed for a secure fit, not for frequent tool-free removal.

Scope of delivery 1 × Vector Optics MAV-P15 Cantilever Riser. Additional package contents are not clearly guaranteed in the existing product data record and are therefore not added. Mounting and Inspection Keep rail and clamping surfaces clean, mount fully in a Picatinny slot and use only suitable screws. No reliable general torque value is available for the MAV-P15. After mounting, perform a function check and re-check the point of impact. FAQ Is 38 mm the optical axis height? No. It is the specified saddle/profile height of the mount. The final axis height also depends on the red dot. Does every red dot fit? No. The Aimpoint Micro Footprint is required on top. Is the mount suitable for 11-mm rails? No. 21-mm Picatinny is provided below.
Black Raptor · Choose height consciously The MAV-P15 is a very high special mount. Those who really need this height and confirm both interfaces cleanly get a clear solution. Those who just want "higher" should compare lower profiles first.
